Fair enough mate, I just think that we should keep the "5 in a Row" as a defensive put-down, rather than gloating over the Mags when we have more than enough problems ourselves.
Not in the mood to take the piss out of them like! I'd be happy to lose every single derby if it guarenteed we had a team to be proud of and stayed in the Premier League!
The possible difference for them could be about 80m in sky money and Premiership status. As the saying goes "Dont throw stones if you live in a glass house". I'd happily swap places with them.
It is quite funny if we're being short sighted. Will feel very silly though if we go down as it will be a case of he who laughs last...
Perhaps we're all misinterpreting it. For the second season in a row my teams players seem to have actively helped you stay in the division, maybe they were just saying thanks to the Newcastle team.
Totally agree. We look small and obsessed doing this. They beat us five times a few years back and nobody said a word. Half our stadium empties when we go two goals down now we are gloating despite having beaten four teams in the league all season.
Exactly mate. I'm all for a bit of banter with the Mags and the recent derby record is a handy stick to beat them with when they start laying into us. But to actively gloat over them when our own club is in an even worse state (at least on the pitch) is just daft, and looks highly likely to come back to haunt us.
Looked about 40k there to me. Perhaps they're "manipulating" the attendance. You're right thogh. Good result for Ashley. More people will boycott next game hopefully. An empty stadium says a lot.
You need to get behind the team mate for the next one, Swansea, beat them and you can afford not to turn up for any of the remaining games this season. Swansea are there for the taking, they're absolutely ****.
It won't bite us on the arse, whatever happens, cos the fact will remain we have won 5 in a row. So some of our fans wanted to lighten the mood in a ****ing awful season, I say fair play to them. This kind of thing has gone on between Sunderland & Newcastle forever and it's part and parcel of our great rivalry, a seperate entity to the relevant shambles of both the clubs. I thought it was class like.
Made me laugh, although there's no doubt we're in real danger of the drop and they're not. Always look on the bright side. Anyway, I'm Brian and so's my wife....
