Seeing as there is actually a gap now before our next game, and to prevent everyone from going into meltdown, I have a list of players who are out of contract at the end of the season. Which of these would you wish to re-sign, let go, or would the answer be different depending on which division we were playing in?

Heurelho Gomes 30/06/2015 Club has option of further 1 year

    Luke O’Nien 30/06/2015

    Gianni Munari 30/06/2015

    Adlene Guedioura 25/04/2015 Emergency Loan

    Lloyd Doyley 30/06/2015

Matěj Vydra 30/06/2015 Initial 1 year loan

Josh Doherty 30/06/2015 Club has option of further 1 year

Jorell Johnson 30/06/2015 Club has option of further 1 year

    Rene Gilmartin 30/06/2015

Matthew Connolly 01/06/2015 On loan till end of 2014/15 season

I guess Gomes will stay and we'll want to keep Vydra.

AG would be a great signing.

Maybe good bye to Lloyd though?

Pretty much agree with Mark. I wonder if the club would be interrsted in offering Lloyd a back room role and if he would take it. would ne nice to keep him if he could offer something.if not give him the chance to go elsewhere and play.

I'd be very surprised if RG is kept on. He's having a hard time finding his niche - maybe time he gave up playing and became a pundit? He can 'out-pundit' any of the experts I've heard - is actually damned good at it.

Munari seems to have been on the outer recently & may say goodbye. Not sure about Connolly, if he helps us get up it will be his third crack at the EPL & his record there doesn't appear to suggest he can make it.

Can't comment on the kids having never seen them in action - but agree about Lloyd, a great servant to the club & there must some capacity he could be kept on in, if he wanted to stay.

eurelho Gomes 30/06/2015 Club has option of further 1 year - YES, quite possibly my player of the year

Luke O’Nien 30/06/2015 - Yes, then loan him out

    Gianni Munari 30/06/2015 - No

Adlene Guedioura 25/04/2015 Emergency Loan - YES, YES, YES - sign him on a permanent, whatever he costs

Lloyd Doyley 30/06/2015 - Sorry, I know he has been a great servant of the club, but I just cannot see him making it in a backroom type role. Might be kinder to sell him to a Div 1 or Div 2 team where he could still be a very good defender - of course not to that bunch of gypo's up the M1. Sorry, not sentiment in football

Matěj Vydra 30/06/2015 Initial 1 year loan - YES, YES, YES

Josh Doherty 30/06/2015 Club has option of further 1 year - Yes, then loan him out

Jorell Johnson 30/06/2015 Club has option of further 1 year - Yes, then loan him out

Rene Gilmartin 30/06/2015 - No, we can get another keeper as emergency cover of needed

Matthew Connolly 01/06/2015 On loan till end of 2014/15 season - I would say Yes, unless we can get another real quality defender to cover Ekstrand's long term injury

Guedioura and Gomes I'd like to see signed up. Vydra I wonder about...he's never happy when he doesn't start and I can't seem him being an automatic pick. We'll need defensive cover but I haven't seen enough of Connolly to be sure he's good enough. Much as I love Lloyd I think his time is probably up and Munari hasn't been very involved in the run in.

Gomes - must stay ! The same goes for Guedioura. I also have doubts about Matej Vydra. Lloyd Doyley should become Prime Minister, if not Mayor of Watford. Rene Gilmartin should be given a job on radio. Would hang on to Munari and Connolly as cover.

Don't forget for the loan players we are basically in the hands of the parent club. cologne, from what I hear from my Mum, LD would do a better job than the present Mayor of Watford and I bow to the superior knowledge who've heard RGs punditry. I agree with w_y about signing the youngsters and then loaning them out

Gomes and Matty should stay if we can keep them. Guedioura should, nay, must be signed. They all deserve another go at the Prem, even sulky.
Doyley could reasonably be expected to be offered the opportunity to do his coaching badges at Watford, retained registration just in case, and let him work with the youth squads. If he wishes to go and keep playing then we should not stand in his way.
Munari? Depends on his family perhaps.
The youth players I can't comment on.
RG will almost certainly go but by all accounts has the skillset to be a decent pundit.
Connolly may well be afforded the chance. However I suspect that there will be a significant influx of talent if we go straight up. Quite significant.

If a player has 18months or less and will not sign a new contract then you have to think that he is using watford as a stepping stone and will just let his contract run down and go for free in which case we have to sell (there is a player that comes to mind i hope im wrong ) .The club will work with Doyley to do whatever he wants
im proud to say that the Pozzos own watford .They are true football fans and try to do what is the best for the long term for wfc .Sometimes its a big change like we are 2ond in the league and they ask a manager to move over as they think he is not the long term best guy for the job .They know the press will hammer them for 4 mangers in a season . We was not filling the vic but it looked bad and the atmosphere was not that good so they build the new stand. They gave the 1881 an area to grow . now on tv i can only hear watford home or away . They do the poppy thing , they paid for us to travel to games we needed to get a result One day they will do something that is not in watfords best interest but will help the other 2 clubs in the group and for that i will still support them

If we go up they will use some of the PL riches to help the other two clubs. It is only fair as we have had an enormous advantage in player recruitment at minimal cost.

Although I think you're right it may not be immediate as they could well have sustaining premier league status for us as their top priority.

And its a 2 way street if players come to us that cant cut it in the epl then we could ask them if they would like to try and play with the other 2 clubs

I don't know how many teams are relegated from the Spanish league but Granada look in trouble. If they go down I would expect some animosity from their fans towards us especially about Ighalo, was he really surplus to their requirements?

I'll stand corrected, but wasn't he only with Granada on loan?

Have just remembered that we still 'own' two more who we need to consider - Essaid Belkalem and Mathias Ranegie. Any thoughts on those two?

Lewis McGugan, Diego Fabbrini, Lloyd Dyer, Bernard Mensah, Alex Jakubiak, Jorell Johnson and Cristian Battocchio are all out on loan with Dyer having a WFC contract for another two years.
Essaïd Belkalem who is on loan at Trabzonspor have option to buy him for circa £2M.
