Listening to Sheridan on GoS after the match was painful......he admitted that he had no idea why they play like that.........he surely must have some idea because they've played like that so often.....if he doesn't know how to work it out by now.....then he clearly isn't the right man for the job. Disturbing comments by Sparksy that there was a lot of whinging to the referee by our players during the match......and even worse afterwards going down the tunnel they where arguing with each other......not a play-off winning situation by the sounds of it. If they don't win next week against Tranmere they will fail to make it.......taking into account that Shrewsbury's defence is not letting in any goals lately.....they make Argyle's defence look like a leaking sieve....so getting a result from our last away game.....(seeing we can't score)..... will be impossible......and we never ever win after going behind do we, ....all a task too far. PS......one consolation for me today was that my local team Bromley won the Conference South and will be promoted into the Conference Premier league.....and could be only one division below Argyle (if not promoted) next season....now that just shows how far Argyle have fallen.
Can't find much of a comment to make to be honest. Haven't listened to Sheridan but if that was his comments then he should be on the next train out. He is paid to know.
A friend of mine is on his way back .. he goes everywhere and j=he said it was shocking and total rubbish.. a game we should or thought we would win..
I have come to the conclusion that I don't want Sheridan here next season whatever the outcome now. We bottled it last term and we are doing exactly the same again. It is Sheridan's job to motivate the squad and get them into a winning frame of mind. He clearly isn't capable. Get somebody in who is because if Argyle don't get in the playoffs this season and repeat it next time I fear the attendance numbers will fall through the floor and we will be condemned to the longest stay in this awful league in our history.
Our Vancouver Canucks Ice Hockey Team have just made the Playoffs so i'm geared up for that.. they also went down to the wire.. Argyle are the same...don't hold your breath Boys..
Bloody shame for the Green Army that made the long trip, In a way hope we don't make it as a lacklustre performance at Wembley would totally piss everyone off and a wasted trip from Malta too. Sheridan is not the man for the club and seems like half the players likewise. Why play RR when unfit, being a sub would be far better if needed. Hungover today so about to do all the S's and get down the strip and get myself a hairy dog.
If say everyone of the green army had travelled from Plymouth,... unlikely of course,... the mileage covered would be 538 (greens) X 778 miles which equals 418,564 miles to watch a crappy performance....now that means that that team owe those greens at least promotion at the end of it.
Shrew fan here in peace, It is still very much in your hands. If you can beat Tranmere at home (and most teams have not had many problems doing that) you could lose at our place and still get in the play-offs on goal difference (as I think Southend will beat Luton). I hope we will be up by then and if our players have spent the week before celebrating the game at our place may not be as difficult as you think. Of course if we need to win to have a chance of the title and you need something from the game that makes it very interesting! We got the job done yesterday without being overly impressive so there must be hope for you there. Best wishes for the rest of the season (and I hope for a trip to Wembley for you).
On paper what you say is true....but we have under achieved most of the season....and have dilly dallied our way through the last month and still find that we can still make the play-offs...ridicules really.....everyone on the fringes of the promotion race seem to be going out of their way to drop promotion like an hot potato. Congratulations on your successful team green*****man....your defence has outlasted ours in the end....we can't score enough goals to off-set a blip at the back at the moment.
When we've had a run of must win matches this season we have generally managed one of them and then buggered up the next one. I was going to say we don't particularly deserve to get in the playoffs let alone a trip to Wembley but then again we have been as inconsistant as the rest of them so on that basis deserve it as much as anyone else. Ironically Tranmere and their manager have parted company this weekend and they are being sorted out by the Assistant until the end of season. The way our season is going though we will probably blow that one now. Go a goal down and thats it isn't it.
