When I have had time on my hands I given this a lot of thought. We live in a time of trademark goal celebrations most of which are rubbish, however, one celebration annoys me more than any other with players like Wayne Rooney and even Lionel Messi being guilty of it.

What is it? The looking up into the air pointing one finger of each hand upwards like thanking a higher being for the goal. Now if the player has a genuine religious belief like Kaka I have no problem but unless Wayne Rooney has become a born again Christian, which I doubt, who are they thanking? Messi doesn't come across as the religious type either.

    What goal celebrations annoy you?

Elia after his second vs newcastle. Takes it from Ronaldo and all it does is say "look at me".
    Sturridges. By. A. Mile.

Any goal celebration, by any Saints player, during any game delight me.

    The knee slide.
Didn't a player injure himself, recently, doing it?

The non celebration. I like it when a player doesn't celebrate when scoring against an old team, but they have to do it properly I.e. Just walk back to the centre circle. Not like how Bale did vs Saints (the obligatory calm down hand gesture, followed by his stupid heart hand sign).

Jason puncheon for me, finger on lips. Find him very annoying. Thankfully he doesn't score regularly.

Jason Puncheon wiping his bum by the corner flag......after the "he ****s when he wants" incident the game before was quite funny.

But for annoyance the one where the players pretend to cradle and swing a baby is cringeworthy.

    Rocking the baby. Eurgh, cringeworthy.

Great, you've had a baby? Fantastic, so have several billion other people.

Daniel Sturridge's celebration is not simply the most annoying goal celebration around, it is actually one of life's most annoying things full stop. It truly ranks with attempting to get a two year old to go to sleep/eat dinner/get dressed, Nigel Farage, self-service checkout machines in Morrisons stores, watching others attempt to use self-service checkouts in Morrisons stores, geriatric drivers, taxi drivers, Vodafone customer service, the utilities monopoly and wishing you'd shaken it for just a wee bit longer when you're sporting beige trousers.

Lionel Messi dedicates every goal to his late grandmother who took him to training every day as a young boy but never saw him play as a professional, hence pointing to the sky!

When players dedicate a goal to someone, Lampard for example, why does it annoy you if he believes a loved one is watching over him?

If I got paid millions to kick a ball about, I'd be pretty certain that someone was watching over me!

The best one is where the player pretends to beat one off straight after scoring - then looks up at the crowd and reacts as if his mum's just walked in on him, really quickly pulling his shorts up. Cracks me up every time.
