The reception will be ok. But ultimately he's playing for a rival in a big game, I don't think he'll be cheered like say Drogba or Lampard were as he's not a legend.
I hope he gets a great reception. I loved that little maestro. Even met him in regents park and he was so friendly. He was our fans player of the year twice and he only left cause mourinho didn't want him (i.e. we pushed him out). Cult hero in my book
Mata, great player for Chelsea goal maker and scorer of quality goals. Sadly going to a team with 32 midfielders has stifled all his creative talents and would no longer get a place at Chelsea.
Queenie, there's no doubt that you facking lavv Chelsea but there's also no doubt that when you're watching a game of football you have absolutely no idea what's going on, it's all a mystery to you (penalty on the halfway line anyone?!)! Poor Mata Jose didn;t want him vGaal didn;t want him, lucky for him vG was forced to play him when Dive Maria got banned. so lucky for Mata and you lot that van Gaal lucked into being forced to play a player he was going to ship out this summer.
Mourinho offloaded Mata because he's talented and doesn't fit his profile of the type of footballer needed to grind out a title win - so he's something to prove.

Mata has nothing to prove, he's a quality player, it just speaks for van Gaal who was going to get rid of him till he was forced to play him when that Argentinian dive fest got banned. All ofa sudden he's an important player for lucky Louis. Mata is by far United's best attacking player which says a lot for their transfer policy under van Gaal, Moyes signings have been crucial to their recovery, goes to show... htey sacked him too soon
How often do you speak to LvG, is it regular face to face or just a couple of times a month on the phone?
Mata will get a very good reception. Fans know he was a great player, twice fans player of the year, and maybe if the Manager was more flexible, it would be 3.
