To help overcome the attrition of Europe we'd certainly need to add to our slimline squad. Imo we'd need a squad the size of Spurs', which means adding at least 5 faces and that's with nobody leaving.

Personally I'd prefer another 'distraction free' season but if it happens then it does. It'll be a year too soon to navigate comfortably but if we get there, which is very doubtful, Monk may take the oppertunity to fast track and blood our younger/u21s Sheehan, Fulton, Grimes, Hanley, Donnely, Gorre et al.

Whatever happens I'm looking forward to next season already.

No. I'd rather no Europa and a decent Prem season than Europa and a poor Prem season.

If we don't aim for the Europa League we are in danger of being perennial also rans who aim for mid-table but might easily be overtaken.

That said - next season, with the mega mega bucks coming in 2016/17 is all about staying in the Prem and improving the squad.

Aim high to stay in the Premier League aim lower and struggle to avoid relegation.

Europa will be every teams aim or what is the point of having one....I cant wait to see us competing with Europe's finest again with the aim of maintaining a top half finish and a good run in Europe this time.....

For us to do well in both next season would require nobody leaving in the summer imo at least 6 quality signings brought in too. I'd say next season would be better to work on strengthening the squad with 4 quality signings and then next year we might be in a position to have a crack at being in Europe.

Losing Bony is one thing, but then Losing Gomis just as he was hitting form is a double blow, I just hope Monk tailors our final third around Emnes strengths, not impossible then to finish on a high........<ok>

I'd love us to play in Europe again. If it means adding to our squad, all the better. We're looking threadbare at the moment anyway.

yes but as mentioned previously the squad would have to be strengthened big time (it does anyway). wish list - 2 x fwd or 1 x at least 10 goal mid, 3 x defender minimum

I really want to say I'd like another Europa cup run, but teams with bigger squads and more experienced managers have struggled. I think it's put pay to Spurs Premier League run this year. It had a huge impact on Fulham and Newcastle in the last few years. I wonder if it's contributed to Everton's mediocrity over the years when they would otherwise have come close to finishing higher up the table.
It's a great achievement as part of our meteoric story, but until we can say next season's goal is anything other than securing premier league status, I'd rather wait.

I agree Stereo. Hopefully a very stable summer will allow us to add quality depth to our squad and sign Bony's replacement.

Two defenders and one striker out and we are looking painfully short of quality. It's a bit to soon for us but I think one or two more seasons of adding quality to bulk up the squad and we can make a right push for it. For now I'm happy to secure premier league status with the mega money coming into play.

Europa League teams get shafted by the Premier League fixture list gods.

Champions League Tuesday teams... Saturday or Sunday game follows. 4-5 days to recover.

Champions League Wednesday teams... Sunday or Monday. 4-5 days to recover.

Europa League Thursday teams... Saturday or even a Sunday if playing a Champions League team. Just 2-3 days to recover!!

If the Premier League played fair, and Europa League teams played on the Monday evenings afterwards, followed by a Sunday game then yes, I would be happy to see the Swans in the Europa League again. But right now it appears that those who do get there are then severely shafted by the way the League refuses to help them. It's a if teams like Fulham, Everton, Spurs etc are not allowed the same rest period as they inched closer to the Top 4 the season before so Lord forbid the lure of Europa League let them buy more and better players to fight to disrupt the usual Top 4 giants!

You must be a Cardiff fan.
Only Cardiff fans think we weren't brilliant yesterday.
Only Cardiff fans question our domination of the league.
