Absolutely. Saints in Europe will be excellent and spread the word even further.

I know this question has been asked but just to clarify, if it's and arsenal vs liverpool final, and liverool win but do not qualify for champions league, does 7th still get a place ?

Personally, I would love us to finish 5th or 6th, with Spurs 7th.
And I would like nothing better than The cup final to be between Arsenal and Villa, with Spurs fans needing Arsenal to win the cup for them to make Europe.

And if there is true karma, Villa would score two late goals to overturn an Arsenal lead, snatching Europe from Spurs.
Would like to see Levy's reaction to Pochettino missing out to his previous team and Tim Sherwood.

I doubt Spurs fans are that bothered about qualifying for the Europa League.

IF Villa win tomorrow, then Arsenal win the final = 7th place gets Europa League?

Yes and if Liverpool win tomorrow, 7th gets Europa as long as The top 7 are the current top 7.

May not be bothered until they fail to qualify, then they would be royally pissed off. I'm not so proud...Europa would be great.

Typing this on friend's tablet...remind me never to get one. Dreadful things.

Spurs need to be a little more long-sighted here. Poch inherited a team with a lot of deadwood in it and has brought on some youngsters and has something resembling an actual 'team' emerging, rather than a bunch of overpaid individuals. Now that 'team' of people wanting to play for Spurs and wanting to be a team is.....okay....and is about a top 7/8 team. Next year when he's had the opportunity to shape it further to his style will be the really telling one for him (and for those of us who believe he is a good young manager).

The logic of some Spurs fans is that a season of no EL would aid their top four challenge. In principle, this is a fair argument. Just look at Utd this season. Or Liverpool last season.

But it's not a fair argument where Spurs are concerned. Their squad is significantly weaker than the current top four. So whilst a season of no EL would greatly help them finish above us and Liverpool (if us two were in the EL), I can't see it helping too much with getting into the top four. They simply would not be able to attract the quality of player required to take them to the level of the current top four. Even with EL qualification, that will be hard enough for them.

Jumping from 8th to 4th is a fantasy. I honestly think it's one reason why so many of us now want to qualify for the EL, whereas very few of us did 12 months ago. We've pretty much had it proved to us this season that you can't make that jump direct. You need to take the steps in between first.

Hasn't been so great for Everton though has it?

Our squad has been stretched enough at times this season. Bit of a poisoned chalice, the Europa League, for clubs that don't have the resources to compete..

Completely. Everton are just the latest in a long line of teams (and guess what, ever since they were knocked out, Everton have been flying in the league).

But the alternative is accepting 7th - 10th every season. And even if you honestly would accept that today, I doubt you would be feeling the same in five years time. Bolton fans eventually got bored. Boro fans eventually got bored. Charlton fans eventually got bored. And none of those clubs went and changed for the better.

Someone needs to break that negative Europa mould ... why not Saints. Not wanting to qualify because it stretches the squad is nuts. Won't the Champions League stretch the squad? Saints in Europe would be great.
