3 question's for you to answer: 1. Who will replace Hendon? 2. Should we offer any of the trialist's we have seen a contract? 3. Who do you think will sign for the Gill's in what is left of the transfer window?
1. I would love to see Peter Taylor help Hess out but can't see it happening. 2. No we shouldn't, I hear Obersteller is quite good so maybe him but we have enough cover for left back. 3. Hopefully Birchall, if not him then Jo Kuffour isn't a bad shout. I would like to see us utilise the loan market if we run out of options, there are a few strikers who will be hungry for some football such as Oli Johnson of Norwich or even Luke Freedman! Hope Brown and Hess kiss and make up haha as he would be amazing in that league.
1. I also would like to see Peter Taylor back but can't see it happening. The way to go is to get a expirenced manager from non-league who has seen it all before and help hess with any problem's that may spring up. 2. Obersteller is highly likely to be offered a deal seeing as he is still young and is highly rated. Also Jake Cole should be signed at all cost's as (no disrespect to Flintney) he will be Gillingham number 1 for the very long term if he signs. 3. Do you mean Luke Freeman? Also, is Jo Kuffour still a free agent? If so he is definatley worth a go!
Yeah sorry, Freeman will be keen for a loan move but not sure about league 2. Might feel he has some un-finished business at Gills and wants to help get them promoted... Just a thought. Jo Kuffour was released by Bristol Rovers I think, pretty sure he was. Didn't have a great season last year but is always a live wire up front.
1. Someone who has a bit of experience, maybe Iffy Onoura or it may be a promotion for someone I think, Southall, Murdoch, then we will probably see someone come in from non league, if they have been a manager then good as they are not going to be ours. 2. Obersteller seems to be ok so get him in, but also Jake Cole, but now I have doubts that he will join us since Hendon has gone, maybe that was the only reason he was at Gills as since he has gone he did not play this weekend so I think he has gone so don't know with him. 3. There is a little chance of Oli Johnson as he don't get in Norwich side and with us having good links then maybe but also would love Brandy.
1. I think Peter Taylor is a real longshot and would only really warrant a managerial position at this level but I would like to either see Mark Robson return or have Darren Hare promoted into the assistant manager slot and possibly bring Patterson back as youth boss. Or bring Martin Hayes to annoy the dover chairman a little bit more. 2. Obersteller sounded good but with Frampton and Martin being able to fill the left back role I'm not too sure he's needed. I'm enjoying the scope of players we are bringing in, as it seems we're taking a good look at home and abroad. 3. Febian Brandy did well when he was here last and his pace was electric, but I haven't heard much about him recently. Hopefully he hasn't gone and done a Leon Knight. We have our eyes on Birchall and still have another 10(?) friendlies yet to play so hopefully we can scope out some useful talent.
1. i want iffy. he is no longer managing that international side (cant remember what country it was) but he has experience he knows gillingham and loves the club. i reckon he would jump at the chance. 2. dont think the trialists our worth a contract. 3. I want Brandy or Birchall.
gills-prog-seller;it was ethiopia that onoura was manager of mate. 1. i would look at wally downes, mark robson or alan curbishley(long shot i know as well as money?). don't think p taylor is in our reach...if he turns down 5 year deal at newcastle utd, then i don't see him coming here, even if he was at bradford at the time! d hare has heart problems so too much of a risk for his health anyway! southall nowhere near ready for the step up!!! 2.of the trialists jack obersteller has alot of promise about him... though would require a fee for him from welling. he has just signed one year contract, so maybe wait till end of next season for free! jake cole the keeper as well(if we knew where he was?) 3. birchall just isn't happening, along with j brown! kyle reid is on trial at notts county, if they don't want him then worth ago. gutted bristol rovers got joe anyinsah the winger...skill, pace and goals! keeper still available dean brill also worth a look. kevin lisbie i would take on for sure!! that mooney lad(colchester utd) not sure if now at the swine but if not we should sign! oli johnson normich maybe or dean bowdich? leon mckenzie far to injury prone if he were to be our only othe striker!!!
*sigh* hindsight is a wonderful thing. Curbishley? Nearly fell off my chair. Ridiculous comment! As for the trialists, Jake Cole would be a good addition but seems to be the only feasible option thus far. New signings? Well, seems like Birchall won't happen. Think our relationship with Dover has reached fever pitch. Lisbie? No. Bowditch? Has signed somewhere else, for the life of me can't remember where. Kyle Reid? Fantastic signing but not likely. Oli Johnson unlikely to step down to L2. I don't believe we will bring another striker in before our first game of the season, and will leave Kedwell on his own up top.
If Kedwell were to play up top alone we are really going to need our midfield to step up on the goal scoring front. The likes of Weston and Rooney would need to be in the whole types in order to give Danny a chance to supply. Our two dimensional play last season was our downfall, Akinfenwa was marked by two men and Cody couldn't score off of every ball that was punted over the top. I believe Kedwell is going to be a handul but I'm hoping that has a bit of pace. Perhaps a better S. Payne? I thought P. Taylor coming along as assistant would be difficult never mind Curbishley! Maybe Gorman wants to work with Hess again!
