Speak for yourself CT I don't hate him at all, he cares passionately about his country as do I and I would certainly prefer him in No.10 than that obnoxious twat Millipede ! I hate the whole ideal of Socialism even if 'New Labour' is a watered down version of the old and I will be voting Tory as I always have done and I say that as a working man. That's the whole point as well because Labour's core support comes from the great unwashed who sit on their backsides all day with their hands out and from so called 'Champagne Socialists' like that knob Russell Brand, not from hard working people anymore. Those supporting Labour this time around have very short memories and seem to forget the bloody mess they left the economy in. Spend, spend, spend and pay later is what they've always stood for and anyone who has let credit card debt's spiral out of control will know the folly of that, for as much as you try to pay back what you owe (and you DO have to pay it back), the interest keeps snowballing and the debt never goes away. Oh for another Maggie Thatcher to rescue us
Nigel Farage shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the doors of Number Ten, in my opinion. Just because you have a burning 'passion' for where you had the fortune of being born, it should not disguise the negative, misguided, and one-note policies his party have adopted, nor should it excuse the evident contradictions associated with Farage and elements of UKIP. How they can get away with being classed as "anti-establishment" and "one of the people" continues to amaze me. They are a party funded by former Tory donors, they currently have two seats in Parliament thanks to the defection of two former Tory politicians, their leader is a career politician and former Conservative member, and, if we're judging people's political positions based on their class and background (which terms like 'champagne socialist' imply), then Farage is hardly an authority to talk and relate to the struggles of the working class.
Surely If the Main parties dealt with the two or three main issues that UKIP champion and use to attract support then they would soon become redundant.
Well UKIP are effectively a protest party for people who think we should not be in the EU and that immigration needs to be drastically limited. The Conservative Party, and even Labour, have taken on elements of UKIP policy with regards to immigration, with their publicised 'limits on non-EU immigration' pledge. The Conservatives have promised to offer a referendum on the EU (although whether voters will trust them on that is another thing) and Labour have publicly confirmed they support the EU and wouldn't offer a referendum on it.

Just about sums up Labour in a nutshell " for the people " - yeah - for the benefits............... " Nigel Farage shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the doors of Number Ten " Well, he actually makes a lot of sense figure wise. It's well costed. If people bother to read the Ukip manifesto instead of listening to the media storm of " racist facist " - which the other parties ended up stopping calling Ukip the racist party as they're popularity was being pushed through the roof. * One policy Ukip want is free parking at hospitals. Is that such a bad one!? * Also, why is getting a grip on immigration racist and scumish? How is it?! It's a NATIONAL health service, not a worldwide charity fund. Women eight months pregnant from countries come to England knowing they can have their baby here - why should the British taxpayer fund this? This is not racist it's common sense. I lived in Thailand and was happy to see another country putting their own people first. Common sense. As for the SNP and Welsh party = both can f*** off. This is a Uk election, both are for one country. If there was an English party, it would be deemed as racist offensive and brushed under the carpet. What is quite obvious to all this election is- * Welsh party whatever they are called will gain a higher %%% of votes * Ukip same * Greens same * SNP same * Lib Dems will get a hammering * Very little chance for a majority for either Tory or Labour. Welsh party and SNP rise puts Labour in a very difficult position however! I'll vote, lets see what happens. Going to predict the same coalition. What do you all think?
Both the snp and the Welsh bird said that they desperately need doctors and the immigration policy was hindering this........so would it not be better to actually know who was coming in so you can focus on specific needs rather than stand at the border asking everyone 'are you a doctor/nurse/whatever.
I thought Nigel was absolutely fantastic last night he actually spoke his mind and told it how it is. The Lefties couldn't handle it and just resorted to the usual abuse. He was also bang on about how biased the audience was towards the other 4 and Dimbers was desperately trying to defend the BBC from accusations of left wing bias! The audience was selected by ICM who just so happen to produce polling for the Guardian! Why is it too hard to comprehend the simple fact that if you allow uncontrolled immigration these people all have to be housed and in turn puts increased pressure on all of the public services!
Oh and just to add that I think Cameron has made a huge mistake by not turning up last night to defend his record. In an election as tight as this he really should have been there to make the case for a Conservative Britain I just hope that this does not come back to bite him on the arse!
In my opinion, Farage is a contradictory, hypocritical, one-note party leader. He moans about EU largesse, which he has a point about, but is content to show up at Brussels and cash in his pay cheque. He believes his party has been treated 'unfairly' and is being stigmatised when another member of his party is taken to task over their disgusting, offensive opinions, yet he's content to scapegoat 'Johnny Foreigner' despite immigrants making a net gain for our economy and playing a vital part in our institutions, such as the NHS. In my opinion, the whole basis of his argument, immigrants are causing our country's services to fail, is a narrow-minded, misleading, and naive one to make, especially when you look at the lack of investment the coalition government are making to those services and, in some cases, will go even further, should Cameron become Prime Minister again. I simply don't trust Farage to do half the things he'll say he will do, and that's the problem when you're a populist Party with a manifesto that mostly relies on EU withdrawal. Firstly, should the referendum fail to produce the result he hopes for, then there isn't much point of UKIP because they are all, to all extents, a rather one-note party. I don't trust Farage, a man whose party is funded by former Tory donors and recently received a donation of over £1m by Richmond Desmond, to stand up to 'big businesses' which is something he'd say he'd do. He certainly lacks credibility on this issue compared to Miliband, as polls reflect. He wants to further cut top-rate tax and Miliband called him out on comments he made where he advocated an 'insurance-based healthcare system'. Farage called Miliband a 'liar' but anyone with the initiative to search Youtube would know Farage said those exact words Miliband attributed to him. Westy, the whole 'international health service' quip isn't true. People who live abroad and come to this country to use the NHS, or 'health tourism' as Farage calls it, just don't face up to the facts. Firstly, you have to pay to use the NHS if you're from abroad, so you certainly don't get to use the health service then go off back to your home country. Now there may be instances where they haven't paid, but it's not nearly as widespread as UKIP make out, and it's certainly not the reason why our healthcare system is struggling. The HIV argument Farage used was distasteful, primarily because it's a serious medical disease and, if there are people in this country who think they've got HIV, then I believe we've got a moral and a medical obligation to find out if they have HIV, not only for the benefit of the person, but for his/her friends, family, and people around that person.
Now Farage has come out saying he won't raise the minimum wage because of fears it would 'encourage' immigration. When it comes standing up to big businesses, Farage is clearly as wet as August.
I am seriously astonished at some of the misguided comments on here! I shall stand back, watch, read and refrain. It takes all sorts in this great country of ours, and thank goodness for so many different views - and how! Fascinating election, lets see what happens.
Do you mean misguided because you don't agree with them! Sorry SCOG but this is a democracy and people are all entitled to their views no matter how misguided you think they are!
The SnP openly and proudly put Scotland first. Cloud Cumly openly and proudly put Wales first. But when someone proudly tries to put the UK first............ UKIP as has been said, appear a mainly Two point party ...........but these two points must be important to many people in the UK because of the support the party receives.........unless the big parties address these issues then UKIP support will continue to grow imo.......... Have a referendum and let the people decide if we want to be in the EU or not.....
Farage is right about a whole load of subjects, why in this country do we have people who have put into the system for all their lives, yet can't have an operation yet a johnny come lighty can waltz in and get treatment straight away? is that not unfair? It seems to me that you have more rights in this country if you have just turned up, rather than worked hard and paid into the system.
But foreigners have to pay for healthcare on the NHS, if they're coming from outside and don't live in the country.
but surely british citizens should get priority whether they are paying or not! no queue jumpers here please!
