Good Morning Everyone, McDermott has told SkySports that Leeds would be in the play-off spots now had they left him in charge. Speaking about his own tenure at the club, he is disappointed it could not continue further, but accepting of Massimo Cellino's decision. He said: "I look back at that time (last season) and think could I have done better. I think this season I could have got them to the top six I have no doubt. "I just needed that time and support. The only way any football club can thrive is everybody going in the same direction. It is a fantastic football club and I do miss it." Any truth in his statement? Leeds have been voted as having the best atmosphere in the Championship. (Not sure Cardiff fans agree) please log in to view this image Would you agree with that? Which other ground do you like going to? How much have Leeds missed Austin and Cook? Have these two players made in the differences in our fortunes over the last three weeks, or have the off the field antics taken its toil on the dressing room?
Morning elland and all. McDermott should be forced to take a drugs test after that statement. Favourite ground at the moment is Joristown Park. That's my local hurling teams pitch currently being redeveloped
Morning Elland. Not sure BMcD has an argument as his last games were dismal and he lost the good will of the fans. He was decent at Reading but had come through the ranks so to speak. They soon got rid when the wheels came off and the fans down there were all pleased to see him go and chuffed when his replacement came in (Wonder how they feel now) We were chuffed when he came and he got all the fans on board but after a promising start ..... He's a coach at best but probably his real role is a scout and that's what he does now and he hasn't been chased for a new managers role is he. As far as I'm concerned the atmosphere question is a joke because I don't think we should be in this crummy league by now. Bardiff wins the atmosphere in the league next to us. I think we've done long enough down here and by now we should have been stabalised but because everyone wants to use us as their own personal piggy bank, we are still £23m in debt. How the fook can we still be in debt ffs
Good morning To Matt and co from a dull Bardsey One can only judge a manager on how is team performs and his signings so what of his signings Well he brought in HUNT who must be on a par with Morison useless Jimmy Kebe and Cameron Stewart both as useless as Hunt He then bought for a million each Murphy and Wooton who collectively we would be lucky to get a quarter back if we sold them I think it says everything when he has not been offered another managerial post No Brianyou were the weakest link and had time to sort things out but you failed as has Redders but that's another story
Morning Doc, McDermott did it with Reading, but couldn't do it with Leeds. Then again Warnock got promotions with lots of other clubs, but failed miserably with us. Common denominator Leeds Utd
A very good morning to you Mike. How the team performs, but the confidence the fans have in him. Hunt, Kebe and Stewart (on paper) should have been good signings, especially Kebe. Cannot believe how bad they all were. Looks like Murphy will hopefully come good.
Morning all, I don't believe there is a manager out there who could have got us into the top 6 I said when McD left nobody at a higher level would want him and it seems like they don't
Morning all McD is a scout primarily. He's found some brilliant talent, best example being Kevin Doyle. Hopefully he can start flooding the Arsenal ranks with young British talent again. He's signs are good on paper especially Kebe but they just sucked however a lot of player have been brilliant on paper and come here and just did bad. It couldn't have been easy for him though knowing Celino wanted him out from the Get Go. You've got to remember the moment Celino though he had his feet under the table he fired the poor man.
What we need is an owner who isn't on a power trip, a good manager and a decent scouting Network that knows British football. Let's see what's in Wales or Ireland or Scottish league football
Common denominator Leeds Utd: Correct mate and when you think that probably the best England manager we've had Terry Venables also failed miserably, would Bobby Robson or even Revie have been able to work with all the crap behind the scenes? Stability in the board room and a cash injection and a boost to behind the scenes staff morale. New manager too maybe because Redders is shyte and obviously sulks too much. He also likes his favourites from the academy and overlooks players who could/should be on the team. he still doesn't know how to use strikers, so yes replace the twat too with a quality bloke and not a big name. The guy at Middelsboro, Bournemouth, Burnley and no not Lee Clarke
Morning Wolves, now that Selerno is leaving, we could do with someone of McDermott's experience in a scoting role.
Morning, why are you so against signing foreign players? Any cheap signings whether they're British or from overseas are always going to be hit and miss. Silvestri's been a good signing, Berardi not bad. When was the last time we signed a British player who was any good? Sharp? Morison? Wootton? No. Cooper? Jury's out. Murphy? Maybe. Probably the last decent British signing we made was Snodgrass. Going by your criteria we'd have never signed Becchio. As for McDermott his brand of football was the most boring I've ever witnessed. Totally clueless tactics and signings. Even when he was afforded the luxury of signing Connor Wickham he played him out of position.
Morning Essex, to be fair Morison is probably the most consistent player we've ever had. He hardly ever hits the target.
We had Townsend and Ross Barkley on loan and we couldn't get the best out of them and they've done well ever since. There is just something rotten at the club. I don't know what it is, but how can we have so much ****e happening over such a long period of time. Morning Essex..
