It wouldn't surprise me either. But its not "news" until someone confirms its true. One thing that pisses me off as much as the greed of ungrateful players is the massive media non industry that keeps growing fatter and fatter feeding on rumour. Anyone can make up plausible rumours that may or may not turn out to be true. Is that what passes for sports journalism nowadays? (rhetorical question)
Problem is you will never get clubs saying they have agreed a fee. So we would never know if it is a rumour or not.
Their bread and butter is actually the 18-35 male demographic. This range has actually expanded north in recent years. Personally I think it's kinda sad that this is 'wrestling' these days and our own country has chosen to ignore and forget the numerous amazing athletes and people who grew it as a sport in the carnival/sideshow days in this country. Men like Billy Robinson of the famed Snakepit who would stretch the **** out of random punters in Blackpool for money. The gimmick was that the carnival would get these men (shooters or hookers, trained catch wrestlers who knew legit holds no-one had encountered before) who appeared small and slight and then have a sideshow. "If you can last 5 minutes with our champion we will pay you 5 pounds!" The sailors (traditional target) would see these men and think 'no problem' then they'd either be engineered to look good and then lose at 4:59 (if they were lucky, this drums up further business) or get decimated and be screaming on the ground after 1:00. But the catch was, rival promoters or rival shooters would often come to these shows and try to get their guy in the fight, so Billy and his ilk needed to be tough as **** and well trained to put a hurting on anyone who tried to take their title. Remember kids, take this cut-out-and-keep guide with you so you can always remember your global puroresu classifications: In Canada it's tradition, in Mexico it's religion, in Japan it's a sport, in America it's a joke. And now back to our regularly scheduled broadcast. Clyne is leaving. But, to be honest, I don't think we'll miss him much.
Had JRod agreed to move on before his calamitous injury? Seem a bit premature to agree terms so soon, there is a long way to go before the Window opens for deals.
Disappointing but not exactly unexpected. Best we can hope for is another team apart from Utd get involved in bidding and we can drive his price up, only team I can think of is Liverpool unless City stupidly get rid of Zabaleta after one poor-ish season. After last summer I am not massively bothered about players leaving, we will replace them, the key difference between now and then is there were genuine questions to be answered about KLs long term commitment to the club last summer, now it seems almost a given that the money will be re invested. For me Clyne is the best player in our side, if everyone is on top form and you judge it by position, pound for pound if you like, but at the end of the day he is a right back and therefore in the grand scheme of things isn't as important as other positions. We will sign someone to replace him, hopefully not named Byram.
I'm not so sure that full. backs are easily replaced. we've been lucky with Clyne and Bertrand, but players with solid defensive awareness plus the abilty to offer a threat going forward, and a willingness to keep running for 90 minutes are hardly 10 a penny.
Yeah I agree finding somebody even close to Clyne in ability is unlikely, but in the grand scheme of things you can get away with having a poorer RB than say a CM which is why Morgan will command a higher fee. I trust the scouting team to get in a good right back, hopefully with money left over from the Clyne deal.
Pound for pound, ounce for ounce or I'll even give you apples for pears. Morgan Schneiderlin is by far the best player in our team whichever way you look at it, in my opinion of course Others have improved, grown, dug in, worked hard, etc, etc, but that boy is simply class and the best we have.
I realise my opinion won't be shared by many (any) other Saints fans, and Schneiderlin is obviously quality, it is also very hard to compare such different positions/players, but I do think Clyne edges it. Still these 2 are way clear of everyone else. Shame they both won't be here next year
If he wants out, let him go. No one player is bigger than the club. Anyone know why he was dropped on Saturday?
Fatigue. Unless he's been making waves behind the scenes id be inclined to believe it. We made Morgan play the first game of the season after he refused to play in the friendly.
http://www.espnfc.co.uk/southampton...nd-morgan-schneiderlin-to-leave-club-sources? How can you trust a site like this when they can't tell Clyne apart from Bertrand?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32338839 Who do you believe? RonKo clearly stated in his pre match Presser that there is no actual deadline, but he would like to have a decision by May, and they would be doing their utmost to keep him.
