For Christ's sake let him buzz off. I for one have had enough of all this conjecture. Now I hope he does go.

... and to a foreign team. If we do sell him, and I'm beginning to think we should, it shouldn't be to an English side.... and yes, we should be looking for silly money. Regardless of Modric's state of mind, he is on a 6 year contract and that means big money.

If that's an accurate translation, it just goes to reinforce what I have thought for a while. You can't cling on to a player whose head is elsewhere. Personally, I would inform him that, for obvious reasons, we do NOT want him going to The Chavs - or any Premiership rival. However, if he wants to move to Spain, ot Italy - get the best price possible, and let him go.

The 22million bid is laughable. If we do sell him, which by no means is a forgone conclusion, surely we'll be looking at at least £40 mil. Anything less and I think we'd be getting mugged.

If true it shows that players will never play for the team because they are just playing to get a move. TBH the way he's going on he'll fit well with like minded non team players at chelsea

I had hoped he would at least 'make do' for another season - that interview suggests otherwise and could pose a problem for team morale etc.

Very disappointed with Modric - I wonder what his attitude would be had we got CL again. At the end of the day, he (like all the rest of the squad) must hold their hands up and accept responsibility for finishing 5th. Yet unlike players like VdV, he's not willing to make it up.

His deluded attitude has annoyed me a lot over the summer - wishing to leave Tottenham in good regards and go to Chelsea - yeah, clearly you know sweet FA about English football if you think that could ever happen.

I'm getting to the point now where, despite Modric's obvious skill (he is a quality player at the end of the day), his attitude is pushing me from 'we should definitely keep him' to 'we should sell him for the good of the club' - whether or not this is an option due to Levy's strong stance is another discussion.

Sod it. Let him just go to wherever the little **** wants.
I've stopped caring now. At least if he leaves now we have time to find a replacement. Just tell the smug Russian bastard to stop beating around the bush with stupid bids and fork up at least £40m.
We'll then probably sign someone who is almost as good for £16m and laugh all the way to the bank with the profits.

I may be wrong, but I get the impression that Levy is seriously pissed off with the Chavs over the way this has been done - he's obviously been tapped up. Therefore, I think little Luka may be dreaming if he thinks he's just going to be allowed to walk out and waltz over to Stamford Bridge. All very convenient for him, he gets to stay in London - more money, etc Unfortunately, for Modric, I don't think Levy is going to make his life that easy.

and so he shouldn't. Levy's been stung before. He clearly wants the best for the club and I get the impression that he'd be quite happy to hold on to Modric regardless of whether he's happy or not. It sends a message at the very least that if you want one of our players, it's not a matter of just throwing money at us.

Levy's gone up in my estimation this last week, sadly, Luka has gone down.

FOOTBALL - BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty understands there was no agreement between Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and Luka Modric that the midfielder could leave if the right club came in for him when he signed his new contract. Full story to follow on BBC Sport website.
