who do you think in villa line up really has the pace. they have always hurt us with directness and high press Guzan Bacuna Vlaar Clark Richardson Cleverley Sánchez (suspended now) Delph Agbonlahor ? Benteke Grealish /weimann seriously from last game thats same old villa... LFC will have 3 up in the face of either a back 3 or back 4 pressing us. cleverly will be gash..... they cannot sit back in their own half and isolate benteke. they have to attack us... thats the bast way to beat us..... if they sit off just to deny us space and we have no strikers anyway they give us a chance jusr by giving us possession. i think if they press us they can dominate possession
Feeling fairly confident after watching tonight's game, ongoing defensive issues aside. Villa will be more up for it than Newcastle as they're fighting for survival in the league and this is an FA Cup semi. That alone is enough to get players up for the game but Villa will want to stay on their good run for the league's sake as well. Think we'll end it though.
These three have pace, Benteke is no slouch and Richardson can move when he wants. Villa play "on the break" quite often and with succes. Their problem (like some other teams) has been putting the ball in the net, this seems to have got better lately.
delph is a cm... gabbie had pace, he's slowed IMO.. weimann has some pace for usre but not frightening pace.... I'd back us in a 3 at the back scenario against that lot is they sit off. if they press up and make it hard they can do us. Thats my view anyway. they sit deep and we will struggle to scroe but we'll struggle to score anyway... they have IMO pushed on in last few games and gone for it. if they continue that its the right thing. wembley can do strange things to sides but.... mind you what experience does rodgers or our lot have of wembely either... maybe we'll just be poor. but we do have jonhson skertl and gerrard who should know but they are our weaker players
Hasn't the ruling changed so it's no longer the runners up that get EL? Obviously, sixth in the league would get it instead so would increase our chances regardless.
Is Skerts back? Will we see a return to a back 3 if he is? Ibe is fit again so that right sided problem should go away. That's what I'd go anyway. Newcastle were very poor yesterday, a better team will cause us more problems with the formation we used last night.
I know the rule for the league cup has been like this for years but I don't know that the fa cup is so I will have to go look it up rather than assume I'm right We know that as Chelsea have won the Europa go to 6th already If lfc play arsenal in the final I'd hope we would be in 5th worse case and so Europa goes to 7th My worst case is we lose to villa and they get Europa when they have not the resources for it, we slump so Spurs and Southampton pass us and we end up where I feared (but did not predict) at seasons start
I dunno now There are questions about what Rodgers will do for me 1. Has he the balls to say thanks to Johnson? But sit down son. I dunno 2. Will sahko be fit? 3. Out best 11 has had can skertl sahko back 3. Moreno, Ibe wing backs, Lucas, Henderson cm, then who Evers been scraped up up top I just don't know.... We will see Sunday I reckon
Just seen this cheers mate, I've taken him to Wembley to watch Cardiff v Blackpool as I won tickets and my Father in Law took him to see WBA there so he's been twice but unfortunately never to see us.
errrmmm, I'm fairly certain that until Sunday arrives we've both played the same number of games at the new Wembley - 3
It's a fact that we've had the same number of trips to the new Wembley, which made the "once in a lifetime" jibe a tad silly........
