I know a couple of guys that are R's fans at my TA regiment, that ended up in other, more deadly parts of the British Army. Mad enough to give it a go and would have knocked them into next week. Wonder if they would have been so brave outside the stadium, rather than on the pitch. Didn't know they had done that. Bit naughty to say the least.

Just from the 'Rangers till I die' page on Facebook.......

It has been bought to my attention a 21yr old is fighting for his life in hospital. He got jumped on by a load Chelsea fans. I don't know the details of this incident. But wish him all our best and hope he pulls through. Our hearts go out to him and his family

Anyone know any more about this? Hope he pulls through.

    Course they were mate. <doh>

Anything to detract from the bottom feeders throwing their toys and lighters out the pram.

Think the vast majority, if not all are condemning the actions of those who threw stuff, however the actions of the aforementioned 2 were unprofessional and a stupid things to do, simples!!! Think that just about covers it.

Totally agree. As I have said before on this thread, fans will be fans but staff is a different matter. It's things like this and the coach's apparent behaviour, that create a picture of a classless club. It's nothing to do with jealousy, although that will be the expected retort.

These level of celebrations go on in practically every game up and down the land though. The fact some fans couldn't handle it has just highlighted it a bit more.

As I say for the 100th time, see Adebayor v Arsenal for an example of someone really baiting.

That is a matter of personal opinion. What you may find not baiting, others might. What can't be denied is that they went out of there way to wind the crowd up and for that they should take some responsibility but the fans behaviour in rising to it is no better. As for throwing things on the pitch, bang out of order. I've seen Austin putting his fingers to his lips in the face of opposition fans a couple of times this season and I don't like to see that either.

Fair enough and that's where we differ. If a player gets a load of personal vitriolic abuse, I think he has every right to give a little back.

Players certainly don't give it out first and are just responding, in the way a lot of people would. They are human after all. Of course there is a line, the most obvious example being the Cantona kick. Even then, I personally found it hilarious that some gobby **** got embarrassed.

Fair answer, the fans pay money to watch their teams, where as the money paid to footballers means they should at least be professional in there conduct. Just a personal view and I don't expect everyone to agree with me. (Not just you but many others too. I guess I set a high moral standard for myself and that's my own issue.)

I don't think paying money for a ticket gives you the right to call someone a cnut just because they play for a team you don't like.

Likewise just because you get well paid to do a job shouldn't mean you have to just take the level of abuse say Terry received at the weekend. Pantomime booing is one thing, attacking someone's family is entirely another. You wouldn't get it anywhere else in any other walk of life. If I went to the theatre and didn't like an actor, I wouldn't shout out that his family were scum etc and if I did, I'd be ejected within minutes.

Why has football been able to evolve to a place where that sort of behaviour is acceptable, even normal?

I'm all for a good atmosphere but....

I don't disagree, it's a shame that more people can't take reasoned approach to life in general. As for JT, he kinda made a rod for his own back with what went on with Anton Ferdinand though.

I agree players have the right to give a little back, Ivanovic did it about right the others didn't. It's a difficult one with Terry he made a racist remark at one of our players amongst other things over the years, sure Wayne Bridge hasn't forgiven him either!!! His family have publically been exposed as to what they have done and I would be amazed if other sets of fans wouldn't 'use' this information.

The phrase..... Taking responsibility for ones actions, springs to mind. Both for Terry, his family, the fans that threw things on the pitch, Adel, I'm sure I could come up with more but I'm sure you get my point.

There's no arguing that if anyone is going to get stick, it's Terry!! Even then though, he's (allegedly) done some morally bad things but he's not a criminal and you wonder how perfect these people are shouting these things out in the stands. Can they look at themselves and say they've never done anything wrong?

I am sure the vast majority of fans in any football ground do not have criminal records and neither does J.T.

The thing about J.T. though is that he was captain of his country and is still captain of his club. His Parents have some unsavoury convictions to their name. He led a country and still leads a club side that is very multi racial yet he is proven to be a racist. He is hardly leading by example and is fair cop for the stick he gets at every ground he goes to not only Loftus Road.

The ridiculousness of this thread is summed up by a Chelsea fan paraphrasing the bible in support of their Captain, Leader, Racist.

Pleased to see its run its course without a single drama queen finding a reason to justify an indefinite ban

Actually is was found that he had probably made a racist comment. Certainly not proven and certainly not proof he is a racist. If making a racist comment makes you a racist then I think every single person I've ever known would be a racist. Who hasn't laughed at a 'racist' joke etc...But I don't think this is a road worth going down again....<laugh>

The ridiculousness of your comments is why these reasoned debates are difficult to have between rival fans.

It was posted on WATRB site by someone calling himself 'BluesinLondon'. Apparently it wasn't true just some muppet talking rubbish. Funnily though the name sounds like it could be that Londons Only/Bluzz muppet. Sort of thing he would do.
