If anything is assured.. I hope no one will ever die again doing what they loved and did best... racing.

Hamilton has looked at Senna many times and he won't move. I think people are stirring this up a bit too much.

Loudmouth Mansell is not my favourite person. He's the one who should shut up in my opinion. He does his best to undermine British success in others in an effort to promote his own standing. Villeneuve is no expert either, although he was seriously fortunate to land a deal in the best car (thanks largely to Damon Hill) when he arrived in F1.

Hamilton is being pulled this way and that. Mansell's words are akin to a father who resents success in his own child; and it is my belief that he has no interest in Hamilton's success at all.

Surely his bargaining power comes from his track record of race wins and a WDC?

I am sure Mclaren will give him a good deal but Hamilton does not really have anything to negotiate with because there is nowhere else he can go so he does not have any leverage to dictate terms.

is critisising the team the way to go to get what you want though? Also is Hamilton not dedicated enough to put the time in to get the best out of himself?

I've been thinking the same thing; glad to read I'm not the only one.

As for his reported demands for less promotion time, there was a telling line in that awful fashion photography segment on the BBC in which he said it was part of being a driver in today's media-focused sport that he had to do all of these things compared to drivers of the past - I think he mentioned Senna - who could jut concentrate on the racing. It does suggest he finds it an unwelcome distraction or at best an occupational hazard.

I doubt any of them relish the amount of promotional work they do but at the end of the day that's what the sponsors are paying for. Less face time with sponsors = less funding for the team = poorer development.

I thought what Hamilton wanted was to spend more time with his personal sponsors instead of McLaren's.

He should listen to his dad, the grass might not be so green on the other side, if anything I think he has got complacent at the team, they say familiarity breeds contempt.

After today, surely Lewis' only option to win another WDC is with McLaren. Sebastian is number 1 in Red Bull and I think they made it very clear towards the end.

Hamilton should just get it over with... Bite the head off a Dove and take his rightful title of the Prince of Darkness. :p

well Mclaren have just given Lewis time off to relax ahead of the German GP by cancelling a load of commitments. Will they do this to keep Him under contract next year?

If Hamilton was as good at motivating his team, and attracting talented people to him as he was at driving fast (without those pesky competitors in the way of course) he could help make McLaren the top dog again. Unfortunately for him he whinges at his team on the radio and criticises stewards' decisions against him even though he deserved punishment. Schumacher or Senna he ain't, and he certainly won't be able to learn how to do what they did at their teams.

Hamilton is stuck at McLaren, so Mansell and Villeneuve are absolutely correct, whether Hammy's fans like it or not.
