net spend was only funny when Liverpool kept bringing it up because of the player turnover. Rafa was using the same money over and over again to buy players who kept failing. Mourinho used the money he got from player sales to make the team much better, thats the difference.
I actually think we should keep him. Obviously get the price reduced a good deal but I just have this suspicion that he'll be very good in his second season. He's not become **** overnight and he just needs to click with those supplying him and for them to read his runs, which aren't exactly straightforward half the time. If he develops a telepathy with the likes of Herrera, Di Maria and Young he could be popping up where he's least expected and getting plenty goals, whether he gets the chance is another thing as right now the front two of Rooney and Fellaini with two either side is working a treat. Van Persie we should sell, he just clouds van Gaal's judgement and I can just tell he'd be itching to put him back in the side given half the chance.
Quite possibly, but who's to say he won't come good? So far he's cost us nothing, although admittedly we lost a promising player as part of the deal (one who right now isn't missed a great deal!!) My biggest concern would be him getting games as what we have is working and I've said for a good while Rooney is our best centre forward and should be played as one. He doesn't need to go back to ten and we have two very good ones on Fellaini and Mata. So, Falcao is essentially reserve striker so would he build up that understanding? Maybe not. We still need another striker though (if rvp is leaving) regardless so it might well be him. Injury wise, who knows?
Why would Utd pay RVP 5mil to leave (essential half a years wages)? They may aswell keep him as a backup themselves and pay him 10mil for the last year (only costing them 5 if they are seriously debating paying him 5 to leave) Seriously paper talk is ****ing ridiculous.
Cos if he stays for the full year he earns around £12m in wages, potentially earns bonuses if we win trophies which he may not contribute too, and also earns a £10m loyalty bonus if he stays for the full four years of his contract. Could be £25m plus if we have a good season. The £5m we are supposedly paying him to leave is half of the total bonus he would be due next summer anyway, so we could save £20m by paying him off this summer. Which is probably worth it imo if we can get a good quality younger striker in to replace him and maybe Falcao too.
Or the clever one. Why spend money on dross and chubby teenagers when you can become champions with a decent bit of buy/sell business? When City spunk a load of cash in the summer to fix their issues, I don't imagine you'll be calling them a big club.
No, I'm pretty sure he's talking about RVP. We don't have to pay Falcao anything to leave when his loan ends. We certainly won't have to subsidise his wages whilst he plays for AC Milan for six months
Love Chelsea fans there net spend has only been decent for the last season or so before then they were spending more then us and City every summer.
And when we gloated about how good our bench was, you just moaned that we bought players to sit on the bench, wasting their talent, over spent etc. See, all football fans are fickle and biased.
You don't need mod powers to edit the post - anyone can edit their own posts. I did make a mistake in the original post, but realised and edited it within about 30 seconds. You must have been properly lurking on this thread to have picked that one up!! I blame whoever took the RVP thread off topic and started talking about Falcao #alwaysUIR'sfault
So in essence you are saying a £30m player hasn`t cost that, he has only cost £10m+two players got it
Net spend is bollocks, A player costs a certain ammount and you can either pay that from your bank balance or finance part of it by selling assets, the cost remains the same.
When looking at how astute a manager is at buying players, net spend means **** all, I agree. He is still using the clubs money, whether its from outside sources or from a transfer kitty. Net spend only really means a damn when you are judging the clubs financial situation really.
