Its taken me a day to calm down after Saturday. I drove 400 miles (round trip) to the match. Spent money on tickets, hotels, food petrol etc..... The 2nd half was a complete disgrace and the worst I can remember. Given time to reflect and look at the table I can only grasp 1 positive from the game on Sat and thats this. If we had been beaten 1-0 we might go to Stoke and onwards getting beat 1-0 going down with the "we were unlucky " excuse, with such a walloping there are no excuses. The players need a boot up the arse and must go into the Stoke game fighting like its a cup final. Will we see a reaction, or will the players give up and think they are already on the beach and ready for an agent to get them a transfer as soon as the window opens?
Can't take another hiding... I've got a feeling someone may be relegated on 'goal difference' this season !? Good point tho... Will they come back fighting !?!? Let's hope so marra !!
I'm afraid following our two tonkings this year, Saints 0-8 (Gooners 0-2), Villa 0-4 (Hammers 0-1), we've been very average in the following game. A point or three at Stoke would be fantastic but we can't expect too much, hopefully Gus kicks some arse.
We came so close to a point at WHU so a fighting draw or win at Stoke is not beyond us with our current set up. Fingers crossed the team from last Saturday will not turn up.
Right now that would feel like a win! My question is, why are we so pathetic at home? The SOL deserves to be a fortress and the fans who pay their hard earned money deserve more.
Maybe its the negative midfield we play in home games, we need more runners getting forward to help out the strikers, trouble is it leaves us very vulnerable to counter attacks. We need at least one quick CD and we aint got one unless the untried Rodders fits the bill, so it might just be that we have no alternative but to stick with it and pray for a couple of 1-0's in between the inevitable defeats, happy days .
You know what gets me? Nowt ever ****ing changes does it? New owners, new managers, new players, same owld ****e every season. Either fighting to stop up or fighting to go up. I've followed them since 1978 & no real progress has been made. FFS, I'm not asking for champions league or owt. A boring ****ing mid table would do me. Never a dull moment being a Sunderland fan.
But to me that wouldn't be boring, Atleast we'd win more then 5 and certainly wouldn't draw 14 odd.. Take my hat off to fellas like you that have supported Sunderland all their lives
I left early again on Saturday - 2 times in 33 years as a SAFC fan I have left early! And they were both this season. I hope that your thoughts are right vegas in that we may have needed a kick up the arse but I honestly think we are doomed! Hope yto be proved wrong. One of my mates is a mag and he put £50 on them a couple of months ago to get relegated - he got 250/1! £12500 if they get relegated!! Wish we had odds like that!
