The original ones look like a BBC Micro though.

Still, that is blasphemy, Star Trek II (Khan) and III (Search for Spock) are my favorite Star Trek movies.
And First Contact which was awesome, but that was the Next Gen cast

nah.. kirk in original series worked but as far as movies go the original star trek moves were a big stretch especially past 3.

i find the lack of a militaristic approach... or in other words plain organisation and rules and commad structure silluy but the movies are far better as they work.

i find the whole i'll command you command, no you or will i oh hell what about someone else totally a bit stupid but the action is better

Yeah what the **** was with that?
Surely kids arent given control of Star ships straight out of the Federation Academy.
Why were Spock and Kirk commanding the Enterprise?
You surely have to work your way up to be Captain, not just "Oh he's lame, hey Kirky , you be captain yeah?"

khan was best star trek movie by a mile... the spocks brother looking for paradise movie with leg from the 50 year old was sad. the whale movie indulgent by nimoy i think.

first was was of its time but focused on big effects.. of thier time.

    the undiscovered country was decent.

imo the same can be said of tng movies... first contact... the borg decent, the data stuff not so good, the support cast on the planet was weak.... generations? decent, ermmm.. nemesis... hmmm. whats the other one?

I think they really need to just get the military stuff down pat, make it realisticish... then i think go for an honest to god space war.

IMO best star trek ended up as ds9 cos it got away from small station and went grand scale war.

star trek new movies need to put kirk up v klingons (kang etc) in a set piece battle

Granted the action is better, cause they can do more now in the area of film making.

The command issues are ******ed in the new films, especially the first one where Kirk somehow manages to make it to Cpt by doing **** all except being Kirk.

I do feel that the stories of the new ones are alittle weak as they are taking a back seat to some of the action, some unnecessary action at times.
But its all the little things that bug me, the things that have been laid out over the series and films, like the design, the moral issues, the ****ing phasers FFS!

i do feel thay wanted bad boy in first movie but could have done it better. i feel last movie went about fixing this feedback they got but again having it in movie affected movie... but it was very good movie.

both had good pace to them

i do feel that new twist on old story is good but originality is needed now.. no need to go whale hunting or god seeking thanks.. please go full blown klingon war please.

    speaking of crap prequels

i just finally say hobbit 3.

**** me.... hobbit 1 and 2 were poor but this **** takes the cake.

why the ****ing lousy british cast????

stephen fry as "the master" a joke. billy conolly as a dwarf warrior... seriously.. the dwarves in this move series were pure and utter muck and the cast was piss poor

orlando bloom caked in make up to hide the wrinkles to be artificially inserted into script was mad as well.

they were just cringe but not as bad as star wars imo

DS9 definitely Star Treks best incarnation.
Pisses on the all the others from a great height.
I liked TNG and the original. TNG had some great individual episodes (Best of Both Worlds etc), but neither matched DS9's Dominion story arch and the whole Cardassian/Klingon/Federation/Romulan war which was awesome.

Also what I loved best about DS9 is that it showed the federation in a more realistic light.
In TNG the federation were too goody goody, an idealised version of humanity, which reeked of bullshit imo.

My favorite DS9 episode was the one were Sisko conspires to kill a Romulan official and frame the Jem'Hadar for it so the Romulans end their neutrality and join the war against the Dominion, felt realistic and something that a corrupt militant government would do if it had no choice. It didnt pull any punches.

    Sisko, best captain by far.

tng started well... it was of its era but the script writers tried very hard for 2 seasons to be by the military book but then it just went down into wesley crusher super kid and relationships and ne or two serious episodes where they had to actully spend money on cgi

ds9 started badly, got 1000s better and was brilliant in the end and only rarely go indulgent... the sisko confession tape episode was my fav too. no question.

    voyager was just pish.
