Last time I checked, nobody said Bellerin was world class, but that he had the potential and talent to be world class.

Nope, one poster said he "could be" world class, which is fair and true. A second poster made a point of correcting him and saying "he is world class" which is jumping the gun a little.
    Check the thread.

I hate to defend a Utd player but...To be fair Rooney rarely plays as a sole CF. He's played left wing and No.10 just as frequently as he has played down the middle.

When you consider he has 247 career goals, I think it's fair to call him elite. He's comparable with anyone in his position.

For some reason.. Rooney like Walcott gets more criticsm than he does praise.

Check posts 56 and 57 on the Coq thread, it seems it was you. I then said it was a heavy burden to place on him and A87 pointed out he has the potential to be WC which is quite right.

I said he had world class talent, it's up to him to fulfil that by playing at a high level week in week out for a few seasons and become a world class player and one of the best in his posistion. Talent alone is not enough to become a world class player, consistency is the key. So no, I clearly did not say he was a world class player, but does have the talent to become one in the future. Problem for us is that it's not clear if he will become that player for us or Barca.

I said he is currently playing at an elite level, which he is, it's up to him to keep doing it so he can then be called elite, but you currently can't ask more from Giroud, he is scoring week in week out, has a better goal ratio currently than anybody. I am one of Giroud's critics as well, so I'm not saying this to say it, I have been of those on his case to improve and get better, and he has done that. Now he just has to keep doing it, I'm confident he can.

Always issues when the term WC is mentioned for some players. As it stands we have 2 WC players but others have potential to get to that stage. At the moment, as 87 has pointed out, we have a number of players who are not WC operating at a high level like Giroud, Cazorla, Coqs, Bellerin, Ramsey. We are playing at a much higher level, probably one of the most in form teams in Europe. Its a shame this didn't happen earlier in the CL.

Lol, talking about Sterling, I see the English media are doing their usual routine of knocking down a young England player after spending months building him up. Clearly Sterling does seem to be a bit thick and has done some stupid things off the pitch and clearly has ****e 'friends' who keeping leaking pics of him doing stupid stuff, but he is still a kid at the end of the day, and we have all made mistakes at that age, I am sure. But it truly is funny to see this cycle start all again after the media finished with Wilshere. If Kane does not play like he did this season and even takes one misstep off the pitch next season, he will be the next target for the media.

Oh aye. I'm just glad it's not us for once. Not only the character assassination that Raheem is getting but also the boring contract saga. Is this how dull it was for everyone else when we dealt with the Cesc Barca fiasco?

In other news did anyone actually watch the game? Thought it was one of the poorest quality matches I've seen for years. Liverpool were poor but Newcastle reached a whole new level of sh*te. Lolvren did his best to keep them in it though through either pity or ineptitude. I'm guessing ineptitude.

Southampton should get some sort of award for getting 20 million of Lovran, an amazing deal for such a poor player. we have had some ****e CBs in our time but at least they never cost anywhere near that sort of money.

The biggest problem with taking a player out of a good team, who was in reality, was just an ok player.

I'd hardly say it was a gift. We still had a lot to do once Hazard got the ball. Not like Courtois gifting Hull the equaliser 2 weeks ago. Or does it only hold water when it's a Chelsea goal being scored?
