Did´nt want to sound arrogant with this thread I was just trying to educate those NOT in the know.

As a LCFC fan I´m very excited at what is going on at the club, Every thing from the new stadium name all the way through to the prospect of playing premiership football.
It´s looking good for us & the money is not an issue.

The previous owners (particularly the latter 2) who got Portsmouth into the pooh were all only small £/$ millionaires. They all had to borrow from the banks to fund their spending. Borrowing to borrow to borrow etc.

Basically, Portsmouth FC was a toy, some fun, but for the individuals involved became too expensive.

Our owners, with their own company included in this relationship, are worth a hell of a lot of money. £Billions?

The big difference here is they are putting their company's image into the mix with LCFC. For them this is about branding and moving "King Power" into the European market. Basically LCFC is a means to achieve another end goal.

They mean business and will continue to spend. Unlike the times here with Milan M, form whom LCFC and Portsmouth were just an ego fuelled jolly.

As for where we'll finish? I have to agree all this spending does not guarantee success. The only thing that comforts me (at the moment) is I can't see them giving up spending until we're in the Prem. This is all about KING POWER!!:emoticon-0150-hands

    Up the foxes....

Looks like we might be "making do" with something like:

Gulacsi, Ayala, Hobbs, Chester, Rosenior, Dudgeon, McKenna, Bullard, Stewart, Fryatt, Simpson

    Nothing scary there eh?

No Nothing at all, sounds **** to me!!

    I'd prefer;

    Schmeichel

    Peltier Mills Bamba/St Ledger/Tunchev Masilela

    Danns King Wellens

    Vassell Nugent Gallagher

But we're not finished spending yet so who knows who else could be in that line-up, Maynard, Vitor, Mee, Hargreaves????

It shows where your expectations are now. Just a few years back you'd have been really happy with any crap line-up. Times change in football don't they? It wasn't that long ago you were in admin and now you can afford to throw millions around while still in the Championship.

One word of warning told to me by a Chelsea season ticket holder of 32 years: when Abramovich came along it seemed great, splashing the cash and never losing at home. Pretty soon the soul departed from Stamford Bridge, there was no excitement as games became a procession. Bigger and bigger signings were made until eventually they are spending £50m+ on players and the chairman is deciding who to buy.

Good luck this year, it all adds to the spice of the Championship. You might find that teams will be looking to raise their game against yourselves and West Ham.

I´d rather be in our position than Portsmouth´s. RA has done alot for CFC & if KP (king power) can do what they want then happy days. We are after prem football & the money that comes with it, we will then build futher to try & get european football & a cup or 2 along the way.

I´m thinking RA has lost money since he took over CFC because of what he has spent yet he´s still there pumping the money in. KP have added LCFC to it´s business empire building the club up to earn money while at the same time promoting the KP brand.

How are they earning money by building the club up? I'm sure all the other clubs in the football league would like to know that secret!

Simple - They aren't making money right now, they are losing it - The money will come when we are in the big league, they are investing to get there

Its very interesting all this speeding by the foxes, tell me with all this money spent how are you complying with the new league regulation of not spending more than 65% of your income on wages ?

The fine for not complying is a points deduction , not that I am saying there is any wrong doing! Enjoy your season.

The fact that we are even talking about King Power is the start they want.

In time advertising will follow retail purchases (Shopping Centres & Hotels) in the UK, then Europe.

Probably on their shopping list is getting into the UK airports as well.

This all means their investment, for now, will end up as peanuts compared to their (possible) revenue streams in the years to come.

This is business. Not a toy like RA and Chelsea.
