I normally watch 80s television while rolling copious amounts of snout in the evenings, but now I'm looking for something from the 21st century.

So what should I watch? Some reckon Breaking Bad is the business and others are pointing me towards Dexter; however, I know nothing about these shows and was hoping you good folk could give me some advice on the matter.

A prize goes to the best suggestion.

1st on the list should be the Sopranos. The Wire is also excellent as is Breaking Bad and Dexter (although I did get a bit fed up with that).

Game of Thrones for all out sex and violence cannot be beaten (plus the storyline and characters are superb).

That is one of the very few programmes I have watched in recent times.

Two words for it: fookin' brilliant.

What about Mad Men? And Homeland?

I prefer to read about history but I may consider it down the line.

Ideally I'm looking for something set during the last fifty years or less.

I got bored with Homeland after the first series and a bit, they writers didn't seem to know where they were going with it and I haven't seen Mad Men. Like Dev said, Breaking Bad and The Wire are very good and also the Sopranos, even though I had to give it 2 attempts.

The new series of Daredevil on Netflix is also pretty good, admittedly I've only watched 3 episodes so far.

I'm using post-it notes to order these suggestions: Mick is green; Dev is orange; Toby is yellow; Monaco is blue.

Don't know why I told you that. o_O
