If we are representative of the fan base as a whole?, it does suggest Fonte will be the run away winner of the player of the year. Would really like that.

Found this very difficult. Manes contributions have been fantastic, pelle has been great all season, albeit goals dried up in 2nd half. For me its Fonte +1. That one could be clyne Bert toby or Schneider. You can argue a case for any.

Think we did a half way player of the season and Fonte won that by a slightly narrower margin

Unlike an England cricketer he has kept up and even improved his performances since becoming captain and it's his leadership during what was a challenging start to the season which makes his role in the team stand out above a lot of impressive performances

Not our most talented player, but that's not what these awards are about

That was so tough to choose two, we've had soo many good performances this year. Went for Fonte because of his captaincy at the heart of the best defence in the league and Mane for the goals that have kept us in the running for europe. Mane not perhaps the best overall performer this year, Schneiderlin and Alderweireld have been more consistent but for direct contribution to us still being in the European running he gets my vote.

Fonte for me all the way. He had one hand already on it in the close season last summer, when so many rats were jumping ship and Morgan was spitting the dummy, Fonte signed a contract extension and stepped into the role of captain, he has not only shown fantastic leadership qualities, he has also improved as a player. If anyone had said to me this time last year, you can keep either Lovren or Fonte, I'd be looking like a right twat now.
Also a special mention for Bertrand, he was the player I wanted to replace Shaw, but I really didn't think he would have been an improvement and he has in every aspect.

Davis is such an important player for the team, brilliantly consistent, smart with possession and a top, top professional, unfortunately the goals seemed to have dried up for him this year, I think I'm right in saying that if you took Lambert, Lallana & J-Rod out of last year's team (which is ironically what we did) then Davis was our top scorer and assister, in fact he had my player of the season vote. This year for me, he is still vitally important, but not up for player of the year.

I might have done if he hadn't missed that absolute sitter on Saturday. I know he brings a lot to the team, but my mum could have scored that. And she's 80.

The thing for me with Fonte is that he is proud to be captain of Southampton football club...unlike the fake badge kissing moron from last season who jumped ship chasing false dawns.

Got to be Pelle and Fonte for me. Played nearly every game and without his goals we would be mid table. Even with his off patch we are still able to scrape by in the TOP SEVEN. How often has that happened when we are struggling to score?
