We have a bad habit of drawing at Elland Road. I hope the trend is bucked and 3 points head back to Norfolk
Not true Thurnby. In the last ten meetings, going back to 2003, they had won eight with two draws, both in Sheffield. Until Monday they had won the last four matches at Carrow Road.
must admit to being a bit nervous about the away game at leeds. up north, midweek, mid table team. possible banana skin, big time. i will be overjoyed with a scrappy 0-1 win
I have always been confident that we would beat Leeds, it was Bolton I was not so sure about. Just hope I am right about one of them at least.
Calm down, chaps, we're in safe hands. Munky man has reaped 4 wins out of 4...we just need him to replicate that and we can all relax - and go down the pub!
The point was its no more a derby than Bournemouth v Brighton. Reading is nearer & quicker to get to from Bournemouth than Brighton is.
Pointless stats! Yay! Shots per game: Bournemouth: -16.6 Norwich: --------16.3 'Boro: ------------14.5 Watford: ---------14.4 Shots Conceded per game: Norwich: ---------9.4 'Boro: ------------11.4 Bournemouth: - 11.6 Watford: ----------14 Pass Success: Bournemouth: - 79.5% Norwich: ---------76.9% Watford: ---------75.8% 'Boro: -------------74.0%
Not pointless at all JK. I'm surprised that Boro edge out Watford on shots per game, but the shots conceded looks even better for us.
This may also be of interest: Shots on target per game (teams still listed in order of overall shots per game): Bournemouth: -6 Norwich: --------5.5 'Boro: ------------4.7 Watford: --------5.4
It made me laugh (ironically) on Saturday when at one point we had 11 shots in total Bolton had just one and the score was 1-1. If we can repeat the 25 from Saturday though surely we ought to be netting 2 or 3 which hopefully will be enough.
Love it JK - what are the goals conceded? Be interesting as that seems to suggest we have the tightest defence in terms of restricting shots
Your wish is my command: Goals conceded per game: 'Boro: -----------0.76 Bournemouth: -1.02 Norwich: --------1.05 Watford: --------1.14 Incidentally, we block the fewest shots per game, and make the fewest clearances in the league, which suggests we are good at restricting the opposition's creativity, seeing as we concede relatively few goals. It suggests we set up to control the game in the middle of the pitch rather than allow the opposition to enter our territory and shut them down closer to our goal.
Great thanks JK! So I make shots conceded per goals conceded: 1. Boro ------------- 16.2% 2. Bournemouth -- 17% 3. Norwich --------- 19.1% 4. Watford --------- 21.1%
This does give another useful way of looking at the top four teams this season JK, including Rob's useful tweak of the combined stats. I suspect that if we only looked at the second half of the season, the stats would be even more in our favour.
