I'm not sucking nob, I can actually see both sides and saying so. Get your head out your arse because I know you're not this thick.
Spot on, how can he say the fans sell us sort to is ****ing laughable. 40,000 week in week out to watch the worst football in the league. **** off to the fat ****.
That isn't quite the same thing though. A live performance vs a studio generated album is chalk and cheese. If the band were ****e over a series of live performances then what do you think would happen. That being said, I support my club whatever. I am probably just like you. I sing the songs and rant and rave and I cheer! I always have and I always will. I have, however decreased levels of attendance over the past year because of what has been going on (my move down here has really screwed me over ). All I am doing is seeing it from the other side and even though I do sing the players on and off, I do it because I want to and not because it is my duty!
It's closer than comparing it to going to see a neutral play imo. I'm seeing it from both sides fella, **** team **** fans. I don't know why people can't see it and trying to put my with one view point. There's threads all over this board where I've laid into the team. I started a thread where I clearly stated I think both fans and team are ****ing useless. I won't be pigeon holed to one view point, not by anybody and especially not Billy who seems to have lost the ability to read but abuses me all the same.
Want to know the funny thing mate. We are probably arguing over the same belief . I'd hold the fans responsible for not putting enough pressure on the board. I mentioned somewhere else that the likes of Cardiff etc are actually doing something to try and change what it going on. Us on the other hand say things but never act. This leads the board to act how it wants (cheaply and with mediocrity) and the players probably know they can get away with it. This is why I think whatever the fans do (via lack of support or going nuts) the end result is the same. I maintain until there is a boardroom level change, both clubs are in the clarts.
I think this is typical of the fans from many clubs nowadays! A generation brought up on being 'entertained' but also drowned in the sludge that is modern football! The average fan has so much football at his disposal (Sky, internet etc) that their passion has been numbed and instead sit back and wait to be entertained! When I used to go to Roker Park my guts would be aching with anticipation, I would sing my little heart out at the Fulwell End! Seeing a game of football was a treat, even though we were ****! If I was to go now I would have not the passion enough to sing or get behind the team. Not like what I used to anyway! Add to the fact that, by and large, we have been treated to some awful entertainment for about 4 seasons, with very few wins, it doesnt surprise me that the crowd has lost its mojo. I think any set of supporters from whichever side would react the same! To be honest, I think that if it wasnt for the fact that I had very little choice in supporting Sunderland, drilled into me since before I can remember, I think I would ****ing hate football! Its just so ****ing wrong!
Short has made a few mistakes in appointments, but in football this is normal, we need to start to get it right on the pitch and see what Short does then, our recruitment of players lies at the heart of all our problems and we need to see a change here. I know its a bit chicken and egg but change is coming one way or another.
The one plus is his mistakes have not lead your club into being the biggest laughing stock of the league. Fat Ash has done a remarkable job of that with us.
To be honest it is difficult to chose between us , I always argued that Pards, a horrible specimen of a man if ever there was one, was still a very good football manager, and his loss will be felt next season, our worry is the here and now and its not looking good.
