Bringing Sagbo on yesterday confirmed my worst fears and brought back memories of my previous statement (which has come back to bite me fair and square on the @rse) in which I said that if Danny Graham was all Sunderland had to rely on then they were well and truly doomed. I fear the worse but to be fair to Management and the Players we have had a terribly unlucky season with results and injuries, there's no denying that as it is a fact. Losing Snodgrass for the season in our first game paved the way for how it was going to be for us. Key players going out for long spells and others simply failing to fire has resulted in our being unable to field the same team twice in a row. So, to be fair to Bruce, our team has been unable to 'bond' and there has been little or no cohesion between the players. The cold hard facts are that we have failed to impress up front and in the 'final third' resulting in our meagre goal tally and wins. No, I do not think Bruce would 'throw in the towel' if we are to be relegated and I doubt he would receive an offer from a better Club than us so why would he want to go. His attitude would surely be one that says "I have unfinished work to do here" and he will resolve to bring us back bigger and brighter than before. Oh for an injury-free team of 'first choices'.
we have been rubbish since the second half of last season. Bruce hasn't got a clue how to keep us up, which is worrying!
Deja Vu - almost a carbon copy of Brownio - got us promoted against the odds - started first season like a train then played **** for rest of season but just stayed up - second season **** and relegated plus a shed load wasted on useless signing where we will never get our money back n- lets hope we can still turn this around - at least we don't have Dowie coming in to sort out the mess
It's not almost a carbon copy, this is very different. Under Brown the players were lacking a lot of quality for this level, but we still tried to put up a fight and actully attack teams, we just weren't good enough. This time, we hve bags of ability in the squad but Steve Bruce keeps playing players in awkward positions, using awkward systems which prevent our game from flowing and the whole squad seems to have no character as a result.
I would argue Geovanni, Myhill, Turner, were certainly better than some of our regulars - then Ash, Boetang, Marney were all better than what we get from Livermore Meyler and Huddlestone and Marlon King, before he became a total twat was great in front of goal - maybe youre saying the same thing really
You can't post personal information about a poster without their position, but just posting their avatar doesn't really qualify and it's already on all their posts.
Not to mention another do or die home game against Burnley which we will **** up again as we always do against them. 1-4 anyone?
