    I thought the oracle had spoken and decreed Monk had put together the best squad we'd ever seen!
    Heaven forfend that the likes of us mere mortals were right after all.

    Well we have equalled our points total and it's just a matter of time now with the games we have left to crown monk's debut season as the best ever in the premiership. .We are 2nd in the unofficial second league in the premiership after the fantastic season by the saints who take the crown. As it stands For us to better next season would qualify us for a European place and that is what we must aim for next season. ..We could qualify now by default but i want to do it by merit....

    Monk had built a very very good squad of 14-15 players, there is no disputing that. Like I said earlier, if we keep everyone in the summer, we can now invest to add some really good quality to strengthen the rest of the squad. At present, I'd say we need a new back up keeper, a back up RB for Naughton (Rangel should retire or move on at the end of the season), new LB to add competition to NT (some would say we need an upgrade), two strikers (sell Emnes, Donnelly and Oliveiria can go back to where he came from),one at least of the quality of Mitrovic assuming Gomis stays too, and a RW.

    I'd make it 6 players required in the summer.

    Agreed aswan. My mate and I said the same thing. I suppose Routledge was the best of the bunch because he kept trying all game. But most of our players were well off it today.

    In fairness Bob, Naughton is injured, Montero is injured and Gomis left the field injured. Add to that Bony was sold.

    I thought there was a foul in the build up to Shelveys goal. I was expecting the ref to blow and then Shelvey thumped it in. Haven't seen it on tv though.

    Oliveira was injured

    For the third visit on the trot by Everton their fans have been useless - they're the worst in the Premiership by a country mile.

    Today has been the best round at such a major tournament I've seen for a very long time. Setting itself up for an epic final round tomorrow with the top 3 (Woods, Mickelson and McIlroy when playing like this) all hunting the leader down <cheers>
