Ten Sixty 9/2 Ffos Las 5:15 - Newcomer for Philip Hobbs, was hoping for about the 6-8/1 mark but their being rather skimpy on opening show. Anyway, he's expected to run a good race on debut.

Formula 1 early tomorrow and I have taken SkyBet's 9/2 boost about Nico Rosberg. The penny started to drop late on for him in qualifying and it is a circuit that he has won at before. Hamilton has been complaining about an unresolved 'hot seat' issue and one wonders if that might come back to trouble him during the race.

As an outside effort look at Kimi Raikkonen, who will probably be the one guy who can make long stints on soft tyres as he is out of position on the grid and therefore can be a little more aggressive in strategy. It would be a massive boost for him if he can jump the Williams boys early. Kimi can then stay out on the faster tyre for longer than Mercedes and put himself in position.

    Morning all

Couple of bets for me today, ZAMA ZAMA in the 2.30 FLAS. I think it's about time this horse wins but he always finds a way of getting beat. Currently 5/1 so a few quid for the win but I'm going to lump on him placing at EVS which I think he will do again today and I'm happy to double me money. Also im tempted in the early kick off in Spain and back GETAFE at home against Villereal. Lastly I see the stats are not to promising for Chelsea at QPR, who have only won once in the last 13 games (D6 and L6). I'd love QPR to win this one but I may play safe and have QPR+1 at 9/5.
    Good luck all today.

Even after today's race, I always thought Hamilton had Rosberg's number, although it did look close last season. Would be very surprised if Rosberg can take him this year. Rosberg is, and always was, a time-trial specialist, rather than a race driver IMHO. The one Hamilton has to worry about is Vettel, if Ferrari can get their car right up to scratch. Might take another year though?

The way Hamilton has dealt with him in 3 races this season with such consumate ease means that barring reliability, Hamilton ought to have his number. Rosberg sounds like a beaten man.

Ferrari have really improved but they have a bit more pace to find to be a threat week in week out.

    Peoples thoughts on Zawraq today?

"He's after doing very well over the winter. He's like a middleweight boxer, powerful and athletic. He has a great mind too, very laid back. Good ground will suit him best.

"He'll start off in the 2000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown next month and that will tell us a lot about where we need to go with him.

"He's in the Newmarket and Irish 2000 Guineas and if he won the trial we'd have to seriously consider Newmarket for him, but if he was beaten and looked like he wanted further, we'd probably come back and run in the Derrinstown Derby Trial at Leopardstown.

"I think he may want to go further than a mile and I'm hopeful he'll stay a mile and a half.

" I was only looking at his pedigree the other night and it's the old Height Of Fashion family, so there's no shortage of stamina in his family.

"Mentally, you'd say he was more of a Derby horse than a Guineas horse, because he's so relaxed. He's a joy to train really. At the moment, he is probably our best three-year-old with the most potential."

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apparantly it is soft at Leopardstown today and I will punt on Ger Lyons promising monster ENDLESS DRAMA 9/2.

He is a huge, huge horse and with that in mind should have absolutely no issues in ploughing through a bit of cut as he did when winning his maiden in dominant fashion by the best part of 5 and a half lengths. At the 4f pole he had them all at it whilst he was on the bridle so he has a deceptive cruising speed and then went 5 clear in heartbeat, in the style of a real promising horse.

A big baby who could develop into a seriously good racehorse. Ger Lyons has said the 2000 Guineas is very much the plan whereas Zawraq is fancied to be a Derby horse by Weld (does have Sadlers Wells amongst others on the dam side) and would prefer better ground, so todays vote goes to the Lyons horse.

Rory and Tiger available at 80s and 125s for the Masters. If they could go round in 6 or 7 under, it only takes a steady round from the top 3 and they'll all be under pressure for every shot. I'll have a small piece of that.

Don't know if it's in the British press yet, but Rosberg has been bitching like hell about this race. Not sure yet what it's all about, so will make no comment.

Ah, I've got it now, apparently Rosberg is accusing Hamilton of driving too slowly , and backing him up to Vettel!

I think Spieth will go out tonight and win the Masters quite comfortably. He's had his 'bad day' yesterday, he had a bit of a wobble but still came out of it -2 for the day and -16 for the tournament. Don't fancy Rose at all, think he'll struggle and fall back, Mickelson to stick around without ever getting really close. I feel that McIlroy and Woods are just too far back and are relying on themselves having an almost flawless round and for Spieth to capitulate, which hasn't looked likely.

In the past big leads could easily be thrown away at Augusta but it's looked like such an easier course this year, hence the big scores. After Spieth got his good start and lead on Thursday the course has played right into his hands, I can only see him extending the lead tonight.
