As this is past the witching hour and most of the idiots (from both clubs) have gone to bed.

Why not shock the world and say what we like about each others clubs.

In terms of Newcastle I think that as fans your are passionate and loyal and as a team always fight for the club.

    Both are real assets.

Most of my Uni friends are Sunderland fans, and know a fair few other Sunderland fans too, so I'll say the decent people who support Sunderland.

I think we usually do say what we think of each others clubs. I remember from way back in old 606 you were one of the first to mention that Shearer was going to take over as manager at NUFC. Pity it didn't work out, a bit too soon for him but his heart's in the right place.

The fact that together the 2 teams create one of the most passionate derbies in the world.

As you say, that's the way it should be, but there'd always be one idiot to spoil it.

My first ever match was at the SoL and I'll admit it was a good day out and the atmosphere was cracking. Everyone cheered when Shearer scored, so in return I joined in with the chanting of "Suwpa, suwpa Kev!". I was only 10 and didn't really understand the whole rivalry back then. I wasn't brought up with football, so I was blissfully unaware of any hatred that existed between the two clubs.

Was at that game, seemed strange to see all the Sunderland fans getting behind Shearer and Dyer, and the fact that Kevin Keegan was the home manager at Sunderland's ground.

You have some decent fans and like most teams have some tits.

Niall Quinn he is a good chairman and really cares for your club.

Where I live its a 50/50 split so I have quite a few Mackem mates, they are good lads until the derby. Which in a way I like. I also like how both sets of fans look directly at the derby fixtures first before any other game. I also like having a good debate and although most of us will have separate views on our respective clubs we all generally want each club to stay in the Premiership just for the derby every year.

P.s. I went to watch Sunderland when I was a bairn, I went to two game, I believe one was against Port Vale and the other Crewe. The stadium is pretty darn nice...not a patch on St. James' though ;)

Niall Quinn and the fans that actually go to the SOL rather than watch the game in the pub.

This. And the fact that they are then good, well fought out football matches as opposed to the fights that occur on the pitch at the Liverpool derby.

And off the pitch Old Firm. How do they get away with being called that due to Firms in football terms are a group of hooligans

Sunderland have the second most passionate fans in the world. <ok>

Also, cracking ownership. I feel under Niall Quinn we'd have been where we want to be by now and likewise, under Ashley you'd be languishing in the Championship. Quinn's done a top job! <ok>
