I'm kind of glad on some level that Wanyama got a yellow. I hope Reed gets some minutes in the upcoming fixtures. I think it's not fair he's been sidelined after such good performances.
He's playing on the wrong side. He isn't comfortable on the left. I'd only play him on the right or central
We gained nothing by playing Alderweireld on the right back position. And I don't know why Tadić isn't playing.
I think Tadić will be on for Davis second half so that might sort things out. Dušan left, Mané off Pellè, and Long on the right.
I think that's the poorest half I've seen from us all season, from front to back we were poor. Most worrying is our ball retention when we're normally so good. The full backs also look very narrow to me - possibly forced as Hull are playing two up front - and with Long and Mane wanting to come inside we're looking very narrow in general. I would look to make a change at half time, either Ward-Prowse or Tadic for Long or Davis and moving Mane centrally.

Not sure I've seen Steven Davis play worse, extremely sloppy by his standards and Long poor too and just think he throws our balance off in games where our focus isn't counterattacking. Not sure Toby over Clyne has paid many dividends either. Got to get this right second half.
I don't think any type of 4-4-2 formation is working when trying to break a defence. We played some good matches using that formation, but those were the matches where we sat back and waited to exploit spaces on the counter through Mane's pace. Like against Chelsea at St. Mary' for example. That formation is not suited for these kind of matches when we look to take control of the match. We struggle to keep possession and usually just lump balls forward with no thought out plan. We need to stick with our usual 4-3-3 formation. Put Tadić on the left, Pelle in the middle and Mane on the right, with Davis/JWP behind them.
Put Toby back central, bring on Clyney for Maya. Davis for JWP or Tadic. Plus a rocket up their arses half time.
It's been 4-2-3-1 long right , Pelle up top , mane left and Davis behind Pelle in front dm's . It's not conventional looking as Long wants to push forward so much ( as he's a striker ) and mane is uncomfortable shoved on the left
I know, I was responding to someone's suggestion that we might go to 4-4-2 in the second half. The formation was good in the first half, but the personnel was wrong.
To be fair hull played well first half and we had a shocker. A few adjustments and we could be all over them. Koeman just has to realise he got the initial line up completely wrong
Seems like Wanyama and Schneiderlin are playing so deep it's almost like our formation is a circle. And we keep playing long balls into the middle of the circle.
We need to get our passing together. Half of Hull's counter attacks are from gob-shiet interceptions.
