Pompey fan here in peace(take note please Sensiblegreeny)

If we all exclude the arrogant Scummers down the road, who is the biggest and best club on the South Coast and up as say as far as Exeter?

I think Portsmouth FC, based upon fan support and average attendances both at home and away, what do you say Pilgrims and what about Exeter who are a league apart!<whistle>

Open to all including Scummers, what are your thoughts lads and lasses?

Agree with being a bigger club and fan base at moment but not necessarily away. That all came with a long spell in Premiership as 20yrs ago plus when we were both up and down the old div. 2/3 I think we used to pull similar gates.
About time we got to the top for once!

Hi SB3. Mines bigger than yours. No arguments with that one.

I've never subscribed to the importance of bigger or smaller in team terms. Historically more successful than another is a fairer way of putting it as history is there for all to see. However successful or not you have been in the past has no bearing on success now or in the future. A larger fanbase is always an advantage financially in those terms however. At the start of any season in the football league, notice I don't include the premiership, then any single club in any of the leagues can be biggest and best that season. Premiership is different of course where simply money rules the Champion League places in the end with maybe one other in a blue moon breaking in for one season only.

In league 2 there are a number of clubs with an illustrious past if you go down the league. We aren't one of them sadly and now I'm not sure I want us to be. As a spectacle the football league is far superior to the promised land these days.

Blimey sensible.........what are you doing up and about at this unearthly hour......you up HP marking the pitch out or something.......or is it your turn to make sure that James Brent's cushion is in position and nicely puffed up in his grandstand seat.

Grandson stayed overnight.......say no more. These grandkids are going to be the death of me one day.

I forgot to add the team who I think are biggest currently on the south coast. Bournemouth.

Correct.......Carl Fletcher will have the last laugh if they go up.....they know how to score goals and a good defence as well.
