So, so sick of our terrible defending. If anything it seems to be getting worse. Is it so much to ask that we not have a double digit negative goal difference?

Why on earth did Smith get replaced?

    And then Ross?

Our 6' 7" center forward was sitting on the bench at that time FI.

Frustrating to let a lead slip twice, but it's a much better result for us than it is for them. From their point of view (and Milwall's), time is running out to bridge a substantial gap. The fact that they play each other next week means at least one of them drops points - a draw would suit us nicely. With Milwall's and Rotherham facing tough games tomorrow - Middlesboro and Watford respectively - this has to be seen as a good point right now.

We play 8 defensive minded players and still concede 2 at home to the second worst team in the league. Dreadful stuff.

What a start 3min R Mc a great goal, 22min a free kick by Pennant needless foul by Parker.
Then on 36 min a real screamer from Smith
the next 10 min saw us once again getting into a tangle at the back.
2nd half although we had lots of possession no advantage taken.
Grimmer had put in a good shift but would not look up when passing, thus 50% of the balls went to Wigan.
In the second half we failed to press our advantage and on the 69min Wigan equalised from a corner, another
    defensive lack of cover .
62min Smith on for Woodrow, he looked knackered by then., on came Ruiz for Kavenagh who for the last 15min
ambled around with no great contribution,
With 3min to go Symonds brought on Stafylidis who on a warm night was wearing mittens and on running on
immediately fouled ,this sent up some barracking from the normally none vocal riverside crowd of
"you don't know what you are doing" followed by the chant of Roberts & Hyndman.
The general consensus amongst those who stay to analysis is KS is out of his depth tactically, and as been said on
this forum many times we need a manager who has some clout in the transfer market, c/w a chairman who is willing
to spend a bit', all in all a poor match between 2 teams who were clueless and one of them at home.

That was dire and I not in the mood to say what I really think about the gutless performance and a manager who seems to be clueless.

First time I've seen the crowd turn, although I missed a few games. Up to 55 we were doing OK, in steps tactical genius and it all goes to pot.

Yup. Although the 'pot' was hardly boiling before then

Kit’s pre-game comment that we “start with one point” highlights our mentality tonight. Allowing Wigan 62% of the possession and conceding the lead twice, with both their goals coming from set pieces, however highlights how insanely poor we were. The primary problem was that the midfield rarely pushed forward; either with the ball or in support of the front two. Don’t know if this was on instruction or simply because they lack a football brain.

That said, the space they still managed to leave in our own half beggared belief at times. That, combined with the fact that the Wigan centre half was able to run through the centre at will - hell, even William Kvist was given the same freedom in the second half - only added insult to injury. And underlined how badly organised we were.

Nonetheless we went in 2-1 at half time and to be fair, Wigan were offering little threat on our goal. Bingo the half time talk. And we came out on the back foot. Bingo the substitutions. And frankly from that point on an equaliser was the only horse you’d back. We did rally in the final ten minutes or so but as we’ve seen too often this season there was no composure in and around their box and nobody capable of putting in a decent cross ball.

Returning to the substitutions. The first two were correct but the wrong way round. As always they seem pre-planned rather than as “game changers”. And whatever claims Kit may make about “ensuring we weren’t caught on the break”, taking McCormack off with 2 or 3 minutes to go ? Well firstly it was not that at all, it was simply to waste time and secondly, we were the team pressing but the change broke any momentum that we had. Sorry Kit ... tonight’s game will go down as the one when ’the worm turned’ and you lost the fans.

That summed it up perfectly C58, no co-ordination in midfield lying to deep to help out the attack, the only thing I'd add is been really disappointed with Scott Parker as captain all season, As soon as we let a goal in there's nothing from him, I don't see him encouraging or motivating. McCormack shows more passion, and I'm sure he was having a go at Kit Symons in the 2nd half about the substitution of Smith.

Smith was the main man causing them problems. Couldn't believe he got subbed. If he was tired on 60 mins there's something wrong with the fitness training. Kit's definitely lost the fans. Which saddens me if I'm honest but he has only himself to blame. Gutless performance imo.
