We would go mad if we didn't have holidays....I go to Belgium 2-3 times a year for work, it's not a bad place for a city break for a couple of days.
No cups of tea available in Malmesbury Road I'm afraid. I don't drink it. Sacrilege? I went to Morocco last month and going to Tanzania in September. All I've got booked in at the moment. Might go somewhere for New Year.
Well all this holiday talk has me thinking. I may do the Isle of wight (watch out Fran). We can't do first two weeks of summer holidays due to daughter's dance, we then have a wedding on 8th August and football season starts just after that.... If we go to the I.O.W. and Saints are at home that weekend...my lad and I can just pop over for the game!!! Wins all round. So this morning, I started googling holiday homes on the island and talking it through with the wife and kids. All was looking good and then the wife rumbled me over the quick trip to Saints Still a chance we may do this though.
Going to France next year, to kind of pre empt any attempts to spring a party on me for my 50th a few months later, and have booked all 3 properties available on a private site, so will have the pool to ourselves and wont have to worry about the neighbours, as they'll be us. Got friends plus kids, all my kids plus spouses a brother plus wife and 3 kids, and its been like herding bloody cats to try and get all parties to agree to a date that they could all go....for NEXT year. We started this in bloody January, and gave them the whole of august as a starting point so we thought it would be easy to narrow it down.....was it buggery. Finally sorted now though although its always more expensive than your first estimates, too but I hate parties that are held for me that much, that I consider it money well spent but I'm buggered if I'm looking for a holiday for this year cos it was exhausting and so frustrating and I've designated the wife to sort out this years holiday for a change. It'll be her first ever venture onto last minute dot com or some such bargain bin of holidays, and I shall be, nay will be expecting her to pluck a complete gem out of all the many places there'll be. She's going to have to read up on places, to make sure its not actually the arse end of an 18-30 hellish resort, check reviews, think about flight times, She'll be expected to check the dates on the calendar, and be able to judge the relative importance of whatever the cryptic two word notation actually refers to, and prioritise accordingly.and all I'll say is, oh I don't mind, or they both look nice when asked about anything that could actually involve a decision being made to give her a taste of her own medicine. And this is just for 3 people so maybe she'll manage.....I'll step in when she asks me where the Yemen, or Syria is though. I think I need a holiday now.
No doubt you've mentioned it elsewhere but what was the motivation to do away with your prized avatar..?
I have been watching Vikings on TV and really got into it. Ragnar(my avatar) is probably my favourite TV series character.
