Wow - Saracens grabbed the quarter final with the last kick of the match. I know one forum regular who will be delighted with that!

Yes - good news for one English team.

The other 3 lost - Northampton were hammered.

Shame about Wasps (well for me at least) but they lost it in the first half.

Great win for Sarries, snatched it out of the jaws of certain defeat thanks to some French indiscipline, an alert referee and a superb 40yard penalty. Allez les Noirs!

Ditto - he was #3 on my list of favourite sports commentators, behind Bill McLaren and Jim Maxwell.

Maybe I should hastily add Jon Marks to that... :emoticon-0111-blush

Even though it's WI v England, I wonder if there will be some sort of recognition of him before the start of the Test match on Monday?

Oh that is sad news. I'll raise a glass in a very short while in his honour, a fine pint of ESB for an Extra Special Bloke. I agree with the sentiments, certainly in my top three commentators too - David Coleman and Bill McLaren being the other two.

Cricket is nowhere near my favourite sport but my top three commentators are Richie Benaud, Brian Johnstone and John Arlott!

Given all of the cricket commentators mentioned, how many of you remember this by Rory Bremner? Unfortunately, I can't find the video where he performed it on Top of the Pops.

I said to one of my colleagues at lunchtime that Lyth should have played instead of Ballance with Trott at #3.

Just another quick Richie comment. One of his tips for good commentary was "the Titanic was a tragedy, the Ethiopian famine was a disaster and neither is related in any way to a dropped catch"

When you listen to some of the nonsense spouted (especially on Sky) it makes you hanker for him and his ilk even more...

Watching Vintage TV this morning, I though Nik Kershaw circa 1983 looked a bit like James Anderson does now.

Not always the most exciting of races though.

    British one usually is!
