Maybe Sterling aside I doubt you'll be seeing a stampede for the exit.

For me your bigger problem is how to offload some of the over priced ****e he's bought, without blowing your brains out

That would be a major problem but one that has to be tackled. Many of the new recruits are playing for a top club and earning money which they never thought possible in their wildest dreams. Why would these duds want to move to a smaller club as sure as hell none of the top clubs will want them? They will stay unless lfc offloads them at a massive loss and subsidise their wages with the other club.

Either way we are really stuffed.

Arsenal could probably do with a year out of Europe... Then they may not have that mid season break they have in February each year while games are still being played and put in a proper challenge for the title

Coutinho is brilliant but atm he's either our star man or non existent. He offered nothing against Arsenal and the way he plays, if he isn't offering anything then he's being a catalyst to play. He's too raw for any big club to take a chance from.

If Sterling leaves it'll be for Arsenal, has friends also playing there but they won't pay the money we will ask. Maybe money and a swap? But in that regard I would only take Ramsey or Koncelney (realistically).

Other players? Borini, Lucas, Coates are gone. Would sell Lallana if a good price was given.

We don't need to panic and sell everyone and start again, we need to just add a top player to the team and let the youngsters follow.

Been one of hendo's biggest supporters over the years, and in my mind he has improved threefold since that dire first season under Kenny (albeit from a very low base). But if he, or anyone else, thinks he's worth more than 80k a season.... we he can go to them, imo. I'd prefer Jamie Ward Prouse alongside Can in a future team anyway (though Soton would probably give him a goodbye-****-pill after getting double his true value if they sold him to us, anyway).

As to the Sterling situation, and some saying keep Sterling and dump Brod - Woy aside, we should NEVER back any player, no matter who they ****ing think they are, against our appointed manager.

Look at Ozil for arsenal, or Silva for City, or even Mata at United. These players can look awful if they're playing in a bad side, especially if they're not seeing the ball: they're rarely going to go and get it themselves. You do need players like this though, even if you sub them at ht or on the hour mark.

Lallana I would keep. he needs a bit of work but no doubt the kid has proper ability, it's getting him to get the best out of it that is needed, bit like Sterling really.

He's 27 years old (will be in May). It's unlikely he will get any better, and we should be expecting someone far more refined than what we have seen. That is why we paid a premium for so called experienced players because they shouldn't need a 'bit of work'.

Agree, he has some raw talent but wasn't coached all that well. Sadly, he's just all style.

    Never say never!

May be you meant taking the side of the player in a confrontation which is fair enough. But what some of us were saying about dumping Brod was not linked to Sterling going or staying. It was about the long term and whether he is the one that would bring us the title <ok>

However taking your principle of manager vs player heads on, you say never and in the same sentence you provided a very good example of when it should be dumped: WOY! and any other crap manager I presume. So your stance is we should take to always back the manager unless we think the manager is real crap.you can see where that can lead us....<whistle>

    That's never going to happen.

Lucas? Do I see something different to others? I still think he should be captain next season.

I can see Sterling going and I'm not that fussed. If we can get 50 million I'd be very happy. I can't see Henderson or Coutinho leaving. I'd like Lucas, Allen, Lallana and Moreno to stay. Balo has already mentally gone.

I'd like Sterling to stay, partly cause He could be a good player (better than he is) and could do something with us if he is just patient for a few more years, FFS he's 20 his career is hardly even started and he's already talking like he's running out of time to win trophies <doh>.
Coutinho is needed and I think Henderson could be something good for us.

Lucas, Allen and Moreno I agree should stay. Allen cause he's a decent option in the squad, Lucas cause we've got no one else (though if we were to buy someone I would be willing to change my mind) and Moreno should be given another season (and someone to teach him how to defend).
Lallana, not fussed, never was, never will be. Same with Lovren, just another one season wonders we've been sold on.

Balo, whilst we need players for that position, Balotelli is not needed and frankly never was, completely a wrong fit for the club.

Need to move on: Balotelli, Borini, Lambert, Aspas, Markovic, Lovren, Enrique, Toure, Coates, Jones, Johnson

Sterling will end up going, just need to ensure its for good value and abroad.

Lucas is average, and we need a better DM. Slow to react, gives away needless fouls and despite making a lot of tackles, his tackle win% is poor.

Completely disagree, reads the game well, makes the correct fouls, very good passer of the ball, experienced player and Loves the club.

It seems people are all over the squad, we need a new this and a new that time to stop tinkering we have a solid core of players and should bring in 3 max of top quality and only get rid of players who are simply not needed, we can't keep starting again every year.

You seem to rate players like Skrtel, Flanno, Enrique, Lucas - yet since they all became regulars (excl Flanno), our club has been sh*t.

So yes, I do have a high expectation for players - some seem to forget that we were bless with Mascherano and Alonso. Lucas, Hendo etc aren't fit to lace their boots.

Our record with Lucas in the team is very good this season.
I wouldn't swap him for many DM's. Hendo has improved each season but needs that competition and I'd like us to buy a top CM in the Summer along with a Striker and I think we are ready to go.
