    Preview
Sunderland, fresh off the back of their Wear-Tyne derby win over Newcastle United, go into their next Premier League match against a familiar foe – former Magpies boss Alan Pardew.

The Black Cats host in-form Crystal Palace at the Stadium of Light less than a week after they maintained their recent dominance in the North East clash with a 1-0 victory, courtesy of Jermain Defoe.

Dick Advocaat and Co must now turn their attention to Pardew’s Eagles and another tough Premier League encounter as they bid to stave off relegation.

Sunderland moved up to 15th in the table after last weekend’s win, three points above the drop zone and with a game in hand on some of their fellow strugglers.

Cheers Funky, great thread again <ok>

I've gone for a draw, probably 0-0 or 1-1. I'm still not convinced we've got a lot of goals in us and Crystal Palace will be a real shock to the system after playing them losers again last week.

Defoe needs to be the central man as he isn't going to score them beltas every game.

Think it sounds like he'll go with the same system with Rodwell coming in for Larsson.

If so we'll have our work cut out on the wings

I think we'll set out like this so we can protect our full backs,
Can't commit too many numbers forward as Palace are lethal on the break. This way a dm can drop off either side to help out the fullbacks while the other continues to protect the rest of the defence

    Pants
    Jones-----Vergini-----O'Shea-----PVA
    Brid/Rod---------Catts
    Gomez
    Defoe----Fletch----Connor

Going for the win again, making it 2 doubles in 2 weekends.

Just think Dick will have another week with the team, and will have us really organised again. AND we are playing a Pardew team, which we always seem to beat.

Palace's bubble has to burst soon.

One concern - we will really miss Seb after his MOTM performance let week.

I would play Funks team, Briddo and Catts at the back as they seem to have more mobility than Rodders, who could start in the Gomez role for me, having Gomez and AJ as impact subs if we need a goal late on. But I would be OK with the team as selected, no problem. I think we are all rightly concerned about their wing men and I hope we can deal with them, if so we will win.

Same here, all depends on Rodder's fitness.

Team news is in the op fella. Injuryroom aren't always accurate so I take info from other sources too. They had Rodwell out for two weeks yesterday morning, now they have no return date. Truth is he's touch and go and could feature.

safc.com don't even have Rodwell as out, he's not mentioned at all in the absent list and this has come out today which leads me to beleive he'll be fit for the bench at least.

    Preview: Sunderland v Crystal Palace
    Published: 10 April, 2015
    by Oscar Chamberlain

Black Cats target back to back wins.

Sunderland host Crystal Palace on Saturday as they aim to secure back to back wins in the Barclays Premier League.

The Black Cats produced a dominant performance over north-east rivals Newcastle United last time out, with Jermain Defoe’s emphatic volley sealing an important three points on the stroke of half time.

Defoe’s impressive strike also provided Dick Advocaat with his first win at the club, and the Dutchman will be hoping to see his side rise further up the table with three points against the Eagles.

Crystal Palace, meanwhile, will arrive on Wearside with confidence flowing through their veins following a 2-1 win over reigning champions Manchester City.

And, like manager Alan Pardew, they will travel to the Stadium of Light with a point to prove with the Lads sealing a 3-1 win at Selhurst Park in November.

Despite a fine run of form the Londoners have a number of injury concerns, with Lee Chung-Yong, Jordon Mutch, Frazier Campbell and Jerome Thomas all set to miss Saturday’s game.

Marouane Chamakh, however, could return from a hamstring injury following a two-month spell on the sidelines.

Sunderland also have a selection dilemma with Sebastian Larsson suspended for the Lads’ upcoming games against Crystal Palace and Stoke City.

The midfielder picked up his tenth booking of the season during last weekend’s Wear-Tyne derby and will be eligible to return when the Black Cats host Southampton on Saturday 2nd May.

Wes Brown, Emanuele Giaccherini and Ricky Alvarez are also expected to miss out.

The head to head stakes couldn’t be closer with each side winning 15 times against the other, with 13 encounters ending level.

Tickets start from £25 for adults, £19 for over 65s and just £10 for under 16s and are available up until kick-off at the Stadium of Light ticket office.

Cash turnstiles will also be in operation on the day of the game, with admission priced at £30 through turnstiles 13 and 14.

For more information on how to book tickets please click here.

Saturday’s match will kick off at 3pm, with full match coverage and reaction available via safc.com and on Twitter by following @SunderlandAFC.

I hadn't but I don't believe anyone who calls people infantile & obsessed could be so infantile & obsessed.

Incidentally, Pardew is claiming he'll get some serious stick tomorrow.

What an arrogant tosser, I doubt many people will care ............... any abuse will be half hearted and just for fun imo.

To me he's just another Pulis.

I said the other day I wouldn't know weather to boo him for being a **** or cheer him for the great job he did up the road, this led me to the conclusion that my feelings are pretty indifferent.
