It would appear that both Fulham and Aston Villa have signed players covering the positions these two play .Jol has signed another goalkeeper so that would tend to indicate Stockdale could be bought, heaven forbid we spend any money or loaned whilst the Villa manager favours signing Hutton from Spurs making LICHAJ surplus to requirements a figure of 500k each should be appropriate which equates to what we recieved plus change for Schmichel. Does that sound realistic coupled with 500k for Adam Barton and Michael JOHNSON ON LOAN and I think that would tie up all the loose ends and get BATES back into favour with me at least

I understand that Hutton would prefer a season long loan back at Rangers, playing under McCoist, so this might affect any move from Lichaj.
Don't know Adam Barton but Joey Barton I would LOVE to see in a Leeds shirt, j'sus that would be a hell of signing...

Barton in his current form & behaviour is exactly the type of player we need. He gets stuck in, & he now manages to control his agression both on & off the field.

Agreed! If that's the type of player we'd be in for if we had any money I'm glad we're skint.

barton is a very good player, fans need to get over this view they have on players because at the end of the day if they will do the job they are worth signing. but obviously we cant afford him

Joey Barton? Oh please, grow up!! I for one do not want a thug playing in the famous White shirt!! He is a proven liability, still don't understand how clubs can pay him £50k-plus per week. Lichaj would be an excellent signing, as would Stockdale. They both have the potential to become good Prem players, and that is exactly the type of player we must get in. The issue we face now is that with the home-grown rule coming in, Prem clubs will use their extra cash to load their squads with good local talent and that will mean quality youngsters like Stockdale benching in the Prem on good wages. Of the two I think we have a better chance of getting Lichaj. He will cost over a million though, and I can't see Bates signing any checques right now for transfer fees. Leeds are clearly fishing in the free transfer pool, and still losing out because we refuse to pay the wages necessary to get the best ones in. I know Beckford is old news, but surely we should have paid him his asking wage and kept him. How many clubs allow their top scorer to leave on a free? Beckford's goals were badly missed, and we could well have made automatic had he stayed. Can't ever see Norwich allowing Holt to go on a free just because he demands more money!!!

Not sure we missed Beckfords goals at all considering the number we scores. Letting Casper Ankergren go was more of an error. Any how the 2 lads mentioned would be great.
As for Barton, on the pitch he's very much in the mould of a player from another era, he can play good football, when its needed he gets his foot in. He has been a scum bag in the past, but on the pitch last season he couldn't be faulted, neither could his comments about England and Barry. Shame we cant afford him.

Aye, we don't want actual footballers at our beloved and friendly club, we only need nice little men who like to play football from side to side and after each game, go home to play with their little children!
Feck off, I want the best at Leeds and I couldn't give a toss about their personal lives, unless it involved children or racism. Funny how some on here were hoping for the return of Bowyer, who has more convictions for violence or threats of violence, than many currently in prison.
Joey Barton is a cracking player, a fighter, a tough tackling, brilliant use of the ball midfield player, who can also score goals, you would have to be off your head to not want him at your club. On this matter, the same goes for Bellamy, I'd have him at Leeds NOW and pay some of his wages, if he'd come.

People never change,Barton is & will always be a vile thug,& even if he's as good as he thinks he is which is debatable I hope I never see him in the famous white strip.

Bowyer, woodgate, dubes?? Can't you remember what happened, they were all guilty in some form?! Never mind how many footballers have paid to cover up hotel rapes and more, king for example went down for worse things, though he is one I'd never want back. Barton is not much worse than others, including players who have and may again pull on the famous white shirt.

Apparently Stockdale's been on SSN saying he wants to go to Swansea on loan.

Let's get Marlon King and Lee Hughes while we're at it.

    Get a grip!

Footballer, probably the only job where you can kill, beat or rape someone and still have a job when you've done your so called time.

Players like the above should never be allowed to work in the game again and please don't give me the serving their time bollocks.

If they score goals and win us the league and then take us back into the Champions League, I couldn't care what they have done in their personal lives, except if it involved chidren/young people and/or racism.
