What caused the variations in temperatures in previous eras? Ice ages and warmer times. Warm enough for the Romans to grow vines as far north as York. Maybe the Romans had too many 4WD chariots?
There was an article about some guy that did a 30 year study into Ostriches, and never found one that actually buried its head. The question I was more interested in was, how the **** did he con someone into funding him for that?
It may not be the last: http://www.theguardian.com/books/20...s-time-for-a-marxist-top-gear-jeremy-clarkson
It's great to see the BBC taking such a strong stance. Oh. http://m.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/a...onfirmed-to-host-have-i-got-news-for-you.html Maybe not.
I think it had the ideal slot on Sunday evenings when nothing else was on. I liked knowing I had something to watch before going back to work without having to channel surf. I'm not a cars guy but I just enjoyed the antics they'd get up to - after all it was an entertainment show as well as a factual one.
Based on how appallingly Jodie Kidd is currently presenting The Classic Car Show, he hasn't a prayer of getting the gig.
I saw Sue Perkins mentioned for Clarksons role, not sure she would sit well with the Top Gear diehards
Sue Perkins has quit Twitter, following death threats from Top Gear fans, despite the story about her taking over being complete nonsense. The world's full of nutters.
I overheard somebody the other day saying that David Tennant has shown an interest. I like him, he was a great Dr Who and he's got the personality for the show.
Oxygen content of the atmosphere has declined by one tenth of a percent since the start of the industrial revolution, from a base of around 20%. Environments under 19.5% are potentially lethal to humans. Carbon dioxide displaces oxygen in the atmosphere. At the same time marine calcifiers, such as the plankton (that create between 50 and 85 percent of the oxygen we need as humans), cannot survive in an ocean that is turned acidic (water becomes carbonic acid when it comes into contact with carbon dioxide) because the alkaline skeleton/shells cannot form, or dissolve in the acidic water. Other than that - eco-mentalists and all that. Bring back Clarkson, he isn't a dinosaur, neither are we! And **** our grandkids, real men think 'as long as I am alright who gives a ****?'
