Isis is now just five kilometres away from the Syrian President's Presidential Palace after militants invaded a sprawling Palestinian refugee camp in Damascus.

The extremist group and members of the al-Qaeda affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra are believed to have taken control of up to 90 per cent of the Yarmouk camp, where over 18,000 mostly Palestinian men, women and children remain trapped.

Both groups have fought fiercely against each other in the past but appear to be working together during the Yarmouk assault. Nusra said in a statement it is taking a neutral stance, according to Reuters.

The camp is now also reportedly being shelled by forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said five barrel bombs had been dropped on the camp on Monday morning, bringing the total number over the past three days to 25.

Okay not606 folk - time for Operation 'DTLW on Tour'.

Looking for a holiday for three, possibly four of us - group of friends.

Don't want a stereotypical holiday (Ibiza, Ayia Napa.. etc.) and we've been looking at Dubrovnik, and more widely, Croatia. Not looking for a piss-up.

Anyone with any experiences of Croatia of other suggestions?

Criteria: Nice beach, stuff to keep you busy, relaxing, some nice bars/eateries.

Fire away... (and thanks to those who reply!)

Good or bad? I've been there and Sofia. Been to a few places in Latvia and Croatia as well. I have been to Sunny Beach twice, once was a piss up. The other time was to chill, go to a few bars and hit the beach early. Both were good times.

I will recommend that you go to Kalkan in Turkey and stay at the Dionysia Hotel.

Why? The food is great, You have over 100 restaurants to choose from. You have great beaches near by and boat trips that are the best in the world. Talk to the hotel owners and they will make sure you get a good deal and a great time.Local sites linked to the Greeks, Romans and Turks are unbelievable. The sea is the most beautiful turquoise you will ever see and is just right for swimming. Beach clubs and scenery are out of this world. The natives are the friendliest people you will ever meet. There are plenty of young English middle class girls to satisfy a young lads lust. Plenty of places to visit. I think it is the closest place to paradise I have ever been to.

Ignore my recommendation and you will regret it for the rest of your life.

But then what do I know I am just an old git who has been going there for over 25 years to eat good food, read good books, enjoy good company and to swim in the sea. The very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov likes it there too. She always gets a bit frisky. I think it is the sight of all those good looking young lads. She wears me out at night. It is bloody hard work now my Doctor refuses to prescribe my usual Viagra dosage.

This place is so good that I would offer to give you your money back if you were disappointed but I only have £23.72 in my Post Office savings account thanks to the bloody Tories and their austerity programme.

DTLW is a principled laddie St.G. He may not have Turkey on his list. If that is so, let me recommend Crete, set in the Aegean Sea. Or you could quite non-touristy indeed and try Puglia on the Adriatic/Ionian, in the heel of Italy. I won't tell you what those places are like, just have a browse. Notice that everything here [including Godders recommendation] is all just off-Med. Cradle of civilisation and wonderful for it in so many ways, holiday wise.
