Yeah absolutely. It's not saying he's rubbish, just that there might be an attitude problem. That will kinda happen if you give someone of sixteen 80k a week....

But also, as TSS rightly says, I'd kinda prefer a different source to UI on that one...

The Academy puts a big emphasis on character, so, if what is said is true (and it may not be), he would need slapping into shape. I believe our youngsters get the same contract to engender team spirit, so we'd never have paid those wages to a 16 yr old.

And all power to our elbow for sticking to that - it's absolutely the correct thing to do, both morally and developmentally for the players.

Come on, a 16 year old moving to arguably the worlds biggest club in a different country with a new language to learn. He's hardly going to settle in straight away and set Castilla on fire.

Castilla have always had the same problem with their players (not just Odgaard) in that they all try and impress individually too much which leads to poor team performances. Odegaard is a natural target to blame with his high fee/wages, but from what I've heard/read he's been very impressive in training.

Hence why I said I wanted to see a different source than UI, so it's no surprise it's bollocks.

The papers are just repeating the same stuff endlessly...Morgan nearly went last season, so is likely to go...they just add every known club. Annoyingly we are still seen as not big enough to keep our best players...especially annoying when their careers stall after they leave us. Not that I expect that to happen to Clyne. As for Toby...Atletico have done well without him and didn't want him before...they may be posturing as they want more money.

Yeah I think we've got considerably worse over the last 2-3 years too...

Gucci has a point though, it HAS got better EVERY year. That may not continue for ever, but five years ago we were near the bottom of league 1, now we're knocking on the door of the top four. If a political party was able to manufacture such a turn-around, I know who I'd be voting for!

Absolutely spot on. Much though I love a cheap pop at the Tories, I think Godders is wrong this time. I am a huge fan of Clyne, and think Schneiderlin is one of the best players to ever play for the club by a whole range of measures. However, they are football workers and want to sell their labour for the highest price. They also want to develop their careers by playing in the CL. As long as a) they continue to play at their current level of excellence for the rest of the season and b) handle the negotiations to leave with integrity I will not change my view of either player. The summer may be frantic, but I see no reason for the club to regress. Onwards and upwards.
