Until people living in poverty which most are working gets a decent living wage then increasing VAT on the lower scale healthy foods will only make things worse.. The only way to get people healthy is to make healthy foods cheaper and increase the minimum wage so folk can afford....
Scrap Trident and close the tax loopholes will instantly recoup £150billion. Just imagine what could be done with that money
I like the idea but i worry where our security is going to come from. We dont need 4 nuclear subs but we do need 2 as a deterrent from any threat, we cant leave us open to another countries dictatorship.....
That's not what an independent panel of experts has said. Four subs minimum I understand. But I guess you lot know more than them. Everyone said that Russia was a pussycat and the Cold War was over. I knew it would be back, and it's already started. Putin was an unpopular President until he invaded Crimea and now his personal approval ratings are through the roof. Since then we've had Russian subs in our waters and aircraft in our airspace - this hasn't happened in a long time. But keep on believing in a cloud cuckoo land where everyone hugs everyone else and we can give free food to people. Yes that's a real practical solution. As for aberprick, think I'll let others decide on my level of education compared to yours by reading our respective posts. Trouble is, yours are pretty unfathomable. Making healthy food cheap enough for all families to access is a very pratical solution and can easily be funded through recouping the lost £30 billion in tax avoidance and a restructuring of over £120 billion on weapons that will NEVER be used It would also save the NHS billions and billions of pounds that can be reinvested elsewhere, i.e. scrapping the minimum wage and introducing a living wage.
I am not political at all and find most peoples views on here quite funny. Can I ask a question, who actually runs Wales. Westminster or Cardiff. Isnt the state of the NHS in Wales down to Labour who run the assembly or am I way off. What I also find very amusing is that the party who will have a big say as to who will govern the UK doesn't even want to be part of it.
We should build a sack big enough to fit all the politicians in, tie it up and hit them with sticks The NHS is a devolved matter as is education so Welsh Labour are in charge of them. However Labour will argue that the NHS/Education is in a mess as a direct result of a lack of funding to the tune of £1.5 billion whereas the Tories (knowing that the NHS would be underfunded because of a cut in money given to the Assembly) will use the Welsh NHS as a political football to their advantage, to which Labour will then counter argue that the Barnet formula has short changed Wales, when in fact Labour did nothing to recalculate the Barnett formula when they were in power. Politicians = hypocritical whining bitches if you ask me
I agree everyone should take personal responsibility for themselves and i`m lucky i can afford to and am educated enough to know the benefits of doing so ( most of the time ). But i live in the real world where the majority are like sheep and buy into what they are fed by the BIG business advertising campaigns which they spend mega bucks on to practically brainwash the masses into believing that they must have the latest gizmos, look like the unattainable model 8 or meat heads and eat what is best for their profit margins ! Yes i am cynical where big business is concerned as i believe they get away with anything they can to get even more powerful than their competitors including corruption of our rule makers and so called protectors where possible, offering incentives and directorships etc...as reward for towing the line ! There was a mass anti fat campaign by the advertisers in the 60`s because it was cheaper to use modified sugar crops to make cheaper sludge foods taste better and after decades of a growing obesity problem people are seeing through the lies and that fats in moderation are no way near as bad as the sugar in now nearly all food and drink products ! And the meats that are on the cheaper end of the scale are pumped full of water, growth hormones, preservatives for longer shelf life and other chemicals which afect our bodies in many ways according to experts ! the growth hormones may = obesity too you think ?
Wales funding from Westminster has been savagely cut year after year during the past 5 years of Tory rule and you expect the labour rule in Wales to give good service.....they dont have the money now so who is to blame for that ?

Politicians aye ! some famous dude once said something like " if you keep doing the same thing over and over expecting different results then that`s madness ! " We keep voting in the same shysters decade after decade and rarely hear of any positive news because of their direct actions . I think i see a pattern there ? The sad thing is they have things sewn up so tight now that its pretty much impossible to get major change without major pain anymore !
no way we had to clean up after thatchers destruction of wales ...You cant possibly think the Barnett formula did us any favours do you....Wales have been raped by the Tories every time they get in power before the assembly and certainly during the assembly......
Unless we in Wales vote Plaid Cymru and the Scots vote SNP. This would then force a coalition government and we would have a Welsh party able to negotiate a much better deal for Wales as the Tories and Labour only give a toss about the City and the South East.
