I'm also shedding a tear, this is great news of course. I love that we still do a minute's applause on the 44th minute and i love that the opposition fans always join us in that. This really has brought the football family together for the worst of reasons. Get well soon Nic, we are all with you xx
It's great to see the strength of feeling in the wider football community. I hope Nick's recovery continues and that people don't forget how it reminded us what is really important in life.
Fabulous news! It also goes to show that the majority of football fans are normal decent people and the people who do these things are a small minority who, if they are given any publicity at all, it should be absolutely damming. I look forward to the day that Nick can write his own message and walk out to the centre circle at the Vic with a microphone and say thank you himself (not that he needs to, but I am sure he will want to).
When we see Nic on the pitch it will be very very emotional. I'm sure the club, Elton, and all are waiting to see the level of Nic's long term needs to decide on the best way to raise extra funds. A pre season friendly with a club like Man U would raise plenty. I'm sure there are a lot of ideas floating around.
well said it shows there is things that are more important than football . Im very proud of our club they do the things that is right for the fans not just to make money .They said that once we started to fill the 3 sided ground they would build the 4th side .was we playing in front of full houses no but they though it would look better .then the plans was for it not to be the full length then it did not look good so they extended it there are so many other bit they do that is just the right thing to do for the fans that costs them but they do it any way
wolves know the problems that they have at there club this is not a one off i personally would not want them involved sorry its just the way i feel
I thought the same as you at first. However, this might be a way of changing minds and attitudes and, in any case, most of their fans are fine. If, Heaven forbid, something like this had happened with our "fans" we would all want to hold out an olive branch. I can see where you are coming though and fully respect your view.
Thanks dan most clubs have there small no of hot heads .And when they find out about it the clubs do what they can .wolves have had problems for some time . Outside the ground there was no police and the stewards was nowhere near the two set of fans .so it was so easy for the wolves look outs (there was 6 or 7 groups of 3 and 4 just looking as the 2000 of us just filed pass ) dont get me wrong what the young wolves fan has done for nick and his family takes some guts living in hemel and saying you are a wolves fan . But what has the club (wolves ) for nick? made a large gift to his fund NO All they have said is they wll help the police and ban the ones that was caught . What about the 20 or 30 lookouts that was just looking to pick on any of us there im sure they have it on cctv are they banning 20 or 30 NO its the 4 or 5 that that go to court MAYBE . rant over
A fundraising event for Watford supporter Nic Cruwys raised £1,500. http://www.expressandstar.com/news/2015/04/15/event-raises-1-5k-for-attacked-watford-fan-nic-cruwys/ I haven't seen a similar story in the WO which seems a shame.
Two more arrests http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/ne...ion_with_attack_on_Watford_FC_fan_Nic_Cruwys/ It will be interesting to see the outcome of 5th May court appearances.
They're gonna wriggle like the worms they are. I've been in a similar situation to Nic Cruwys, fortunately not anywhere near as seriously injured but enough to put me in hospital overnight and take three weeks off work. Hopefully these kids will have less able solicitors than my attackers, and a jury that understands precisely what "reasonable doubt" actually means.... oh and a judge who has actually got a grasp on everyday reality.
