It’s exactly a year since the Football Association sided with the fans of Hull City AFC and refused Assem Allam permission to rename the club. While the waters have been muddied a little since then with the setting aside of the first appliction on the tiniest of technicalities and Mr Allam planning a promise-breaking second application, it’s worth remembering what an achievement it was to prevent this madness in the first instance. With the family still unable to provide a basic business plan to support what Assem Allam has already admitted was motivated by a row with the council and the impossible task of persuading supporters to back it in a FAIR ballot with the majority opposed, the outlook for this foolish idea is encouragingly poor. The date on which this hopelessly misguided venture will be finally, irreversibly killed off remains unclear – it may be that another date becomes the future No To Hull Tigers Day, and not April 9th. Nonetheless, it’s worth noting what we collectively achieved a year ago. http://www.ambernectar.org/blog/2015/04/a-year-ago-today/
Happy no to hull tigers day everyone. It should be a public holiday, God knows we haven't had enough of those recently.
I think its a conflication to be honest and I hope the Allams and CTWD are happy when we are back in the championship and can both look back on our Premier League campaign as a tarnished by the whole name change fiasco!
Reasons you get relegated 1. not good enough 2 **** tactics 3. poor team selection 4 not enough money spent on team building 5 unlucky with injuries 6 poor team morale 7 poor management I cant be arsed to think of any more - but please explain how a small minority of fans who the Allams call irrelevant are remotely responsible for a visit to the Championship
If there wasn't a "whole name change fiasco" there would never have been a CTWD. The roots of the whole episode lay at the feet of a petulant, narrow minded & idiotic old man. If we return to the Championship so-be-it but it had nothing to do with CTWD who have also had no input in creating the name change fiasco or tarnishing the current season. They have merely reacted to Allam & his petulance. CTWD ceased to exist in their current form a year ago today. It's all down to the one, & we all know who he is.
No, probably because nobody gives a **** about No To Hull Tigers Day, they're more bothered about getting behind the team for the last 7 games.
It's a shame the owners of the club weren't more bothered about getting the fans to the remaining away's, don't you think?
Has anyone got the exact quote in which Allam conceded the whole business started when he didn't get what he wanted from the council? Allam apologists always conveniently forget the origins of all this.
