That would hardly have cost £200k, Stoke have managed to provide free travel to 20 away games plus other reciprocal reductions.....just think what the club could have offered with £10k a game to play with

I didn't say it would. I said it it would be a waste to just to do it for the last away match when it would've sold out anyway.

At least they'd have spent some of it though.

Just to remove any element of doubt and for the benefit of Hull City AFC DMD:

This was posted onh hullcitytigers.com (the Official website) at 10pm (ish) last night. I am assuming it was done by (or arranged) by James Mooney, Hull City Tigers Marketing and Communications Manager, unless we know of someone else.

Just so you are sure what you are looking at, it is a basic holding (or interim) statement, it follows the general rules I gave:

It also answers this sarcastically intended comment:

Yes, seriously. They are obviously capable, but unwilling.

Another day gone by and nothing - what about the personal touch, how is that progressing?

It's staggering how, what should be an easy opportunity for good news and bridge building has ended up being such a negative.

Perhaps, instead of being 'staggered' or surprised, we should consider the possibility that it is quite deliberate and everyone on their team are doing nothing other than implementing their strategy. They pay lip service to us and everyone else.

<laugh> It's never dull at 'ull.

Who'd have thought that Hull City fans using the nickname could end up with negative connotations in some circles?

I'm donating to the World Wildlife Fund, to help save the Tigers from extinction.

Its possible but I'd be surprised if the Premier League consider the two companies as one. Otherwise they'd have to do it with the fair play rules as well. I'd expect the club to produce the invoices to say they paid for it in full for them to get the benefit. The other problem Hull City Tigers Limited may have is that the expenditure resulted in a big price increase for away fans. Last season the club had to charge a reduced price for the North Stand because of the guidelines on ticket pricing. By putting the fans in the corner, occupying two stands they could charge the same price as the East for all of the North.

Or, perhaps they don't have a strategy, and they lurch from one internal crisis to another.

I spoke to the Prem about the ticket pricing issue, with home fans getting a less favourable spot for the same price. It seems the rules are only for away fans, and as the north stand's the same price, it's within their rules.

Are these improvements in the away end capital improvements (eg permanent structural changes) or are they just banners/flags and such like ?

Thanks DMD. Presumably if the away fans were just in the North Stand then they'd have reduced prices. By putting them in a corner straddling two stands the club can charge the same price as the other two stands. By making the North Stand predominantly an home stand they can make it the same price as the East and voila the away fans have to pay more.

I think that is the main explanation for the move.

We sent two blocks of tickets back to Southampton because we couldn't sell them - you would have thought the short sighted **** would realise by now that his team needs all the support it can get

Not sure. I'd suspect a bit of both.

There might well be something in that, or that their strategy has been blown full of holes, more like; but it is a dangerous thing to assume that they have nothing up their sleeve and that the management team are not progressing it without telling their personal connections. Maybe someone is playing the age old game of keeping their friends close and their enemies closer?
