Typical Mag airbrushing from Williamson, “We had a patched up back four and we lost the game to a wonder goal,"

No Mike, that wasn't the only difference, Sunderland created loads more chances and 4 times as many shots on target.

And if you hadn't made such a piss poor challenge on Fletcher you might have some room for excuses ...............

And Buckley and AJ wasn't fit to start. All our creativity absent. No excuse at all. Injured Players didn't make them spineless. When a Geordie can't get them up for a north east derby you know the problem lies with the fit players and the Geordie, not the injured players.

Too true, dealing with a long ball down the middle is a defensive basic.

Absolutely fella. Defoe had time to sit down and have rest before slamming it in.

I noticed there was very little of the usual smashing up the toon or causing any meaningful trouble...Perhaps this five in a row has taught them some humility..<whistle>

Since John Carver took over at Newcastle United, things have gone from bad to worse at St James' Park.

And, over their last six games, Carver's side have been the absolute worst team in the top flight.

Indeed, as the figures show, Newcastle are rock bottom based on their last six Premier Leaguegames, having won just once and lost five of them.

    Bottom 10
    Points
    Won Drawn Lost
    Aston Villa
    7 2 1 4
    Southampton 7 2 1 3
    West Brom 7 2 1 3
    Burnley 5 1 2 3
    Hull City 5 1 2 3
    Leicester 5 1 2 2
    Sunderland 5 1 2 3
    QPR 4 1 1 5
    West Ham 4 1 1 4
    Newcastle 3 1 0 5
The Magpies' sole victory came against lowly Aston Villa, while two of their defeats were heavy ones - 5-0 at Manchester City and 3-0 at Everton.

Newcastle's most recent loss, meanwhile, was another drab, uninspiring Wear-Tyne derby display, as the St James' Park outfit offered no resistance whatsoever to great rivals Sunderland.

Newcastle fans are planning to boycott the club's next home game against Tottenham on Sunday, April 19 and turn up the heat on owner Mike Ashley.

A social media campaign has been launched for the match, which will be shown live on Sky Sports, in a bid to ensure they are watched by their lowest ever Premier League crowd.

Fans who don't want to turn their back on the players with Newcastle just above the relegation zone have been encouraged to take part in demonstrations held both before and after the game at St James' Park.

Ashley will be as concerned with that as he was with the sack Pardew campaign.
