Perhaps signing a new contract with Watford in March and walking out in April - or maybe just sexist and racist texts???
Hi AK - been a while since I popped by - see you boys are chugging along nicely and I might have to pop over next season just to see how the Prem is going ... Another reason for popping by is that middle daughter landed at Keflavik earlier this afternoon on a school Geography trip - have to say I'm pretty jealous - looking at her itinerary it looks like she is in for a wonderful few days in your beautiful country (also note the Euro qualifying campaign is looking pretty good too) FF
Fosse she will have visits to Þingvellir, Blue Lagoon, Northern Lights, finding MacDonalds (she will not there are none), geothermal energy station. Perhaps swim in the fissure. That is what all the children do. She may get a real idiot for a guide, one who is not from here. The school people employ foreign guides for why I know not. From what I hear one thing is she will return home and not stop talking about it, specially no internet and facebook!
To the best of my knowledge the Malky Mackay case is still going on so you should not be talking in factual terms at this stage Wembley,(got a lawyer?) If MMs case is proved then I too will resign from his fan club.At the time he left this club though it was not in a good state -enough were complaining about it on here-and he was offered a job he would surely have thought held better prospects (changed a bit since though! )Now none of you would change a job for something that seemed better ....much! Dont somehow think he dragged other staff kicking and screaming to Wales..likely they saw better prospects too at the time.As for player poaching, is common in football and can be seen as a compliment to him,as is the sometimes vitriolic abuse thrown at him by some.My theorys simple, fans support a club for life (or should!), for Coaches/Managers its a job of work and they know if they stay long enough at a club eventually they'll be shown the door......some supporters seem to expect the same loyalty from the staff-aint gonna happen. In MMs particular case he happened to give many years of good 'service'-for want of a better word-as player and manager....one of the best and I've seen a few due to great age-hardly a mention of that on here though - cos he left YOUR CLUB. SHOULD he eventually be cleared of these charges I suspect he'll surface somewhere to bother you again, was not a success at Wigan but has shown in past he has a talent. As I dont entertain you all too often on here these days, can I just add why dont some of you just enjoy the current success, whether or not it ends in promotion.Surely such a good season cant have been foreseen when all the management upheavals were going on. Some though would prefer to bleat on about Penalties-Bournemouth-Referees(who hate Watford but love every other club) etc-even seem to be trying to find a reason not to allow Bournemouth into the Prem. They have done so well for the club that got a pat on the head only a season ago on here - Deeneys Devils and they end up the top two.if you can bring yourselves to forget one incident in one match . Cant claim to have been the current owners biggest fan,but full praise for all they've overcome this season..and as for the 'Goals For'-speaks for itself ! Must be very entertaining to watch. Do try and forget what other clubs are up to ,concentrate on yours ...thats what I say ! I thank you,if there happens to be anyone still awake
Not really interested in the court case to be honest - bit of handbags at 5 paces - in a sport like football there are bound to be some views expressed that are not PC -but you asked so I suggested that those points might not make me a fan of his. As for getting a new job - no problem - but not just a month after agreeing new terms at a club where he knew exactly what the set up was. If he wanted to move on he should have said he would wait to the end of the season to sign a new contract - I do not respect what he did. Agree on Watford - I love this season - we play some exciting football and I really don't give a monkey's who else goes up so long as we do. Pozzos have now given us 3 interesting seasons - good for them
Awake, and with you on much of this, Nick. It's been vastly better than expected this season and generally entertaining to watch. I much prefer to use up what energy I've got supporting my own club rather than worrying about the misdemeanours of others. As for conspiracy theories about referees, penalties and unfair advantage of big clubs, I just don't buy it.
I think that old nick makes some fair comments. MM did ditch us to go where he thought that the job prospects would be better, even if the timing was terrible. He didn't exactly force his staff to go with him, they chose to follow, but it seems he would have known what players contracts included and used that knowledge to encourage them to go for a better deal. Of course he finished up with a 'difficult' owner who promised a great deal and delivered less. Would he have done better with a different owner? We will never know, but I suspect he wishes he had some owners like the Pozzos. You only have to read the series of articles about the days when Elton was the owner at Watford to realize that owners do come and go, but us lot for our sins are welded to our club and cannot break free. Of course people will wonder just how one club gets so many decisions going in their favour. It seems very odd, but no one seems to have a reasonable explanation for it. Monday was a day that I had forgotten existed. Over the years I have become immune to the highs and usually lows of the goings on at the Vic and take what comes as the norm, but before the game I was actually nervous about what would happen. I had commented that I didn't believe Boro were that good and would be disappointed if we didn't beat them, but you never know. The game itself showed me that we maybe are in a new situation when we should and do win. Whatever happens in the next weeks it has been a very good season with much to admire and one that I have thoroughly enjoyed.
The racist twat deserves everything he gets thrown at him. Hopefully no other club will touch him now. Nick, if you really think someone is going to get sued over this, you have no idea how the internet works. They can try though
Maybe, but it's a lot more complicated than that. Especially for this site, hosted in Germany, run by an Irishman living in Malta. I'm not going to go into the nerdy details of it all... The main thing is that Malky actually admitted to sending those texts
An Ipswich fan has been prosecuted for racist remarks about Cameron Jerome on facebook! It was deleted after just two minutes but the police have tracked him and are prosecuting!
True, but calling someone a racist when he's admitted to sending racist texts is very different to being racist. I'm all for racists being put in prison.
Morning all, another beautiful day in rural France and yet something was missing when I went out first thing. No high level aircraft in the sky. Traffic controllers in France are taking a couple of days off to protest at new working schedules and lack of improvement to their pension fund. They say they will do it again next month and the one after that if required. I expect that having created chaos they will get what they want before too long.
