You can't suggest a change the regulations because your driver's struggling (although try telling that to Charlie Whiting). McLaren have been architects of their own downfall, bringing upgrades to the front wing despite knowing it was the rear where they not only were lacking, but also expecting to lose another chunk of performance under the new regulations.

Seems Ferrari have managed just that

McLaren have probably lost a little more pace than Red Bull have lost, Ferrari have gained a little from their upgrades, add this to the pace lost by the 2 teams above them and you see them sitting 2nd on the grid. Convenient.

What, so you want Hamilton to crash?

Well I think it's safe to say that a Ferrari will be leading into the first "real" corner.

A dry start won't help Lewis. He will be forced to start on that set of used softs. Luckily for him, the cars ahead of him (and behind) aren't as quick as his McLaren, so it shouldn't affect him too much.

I suppose the only bonus is that he has one more new set of softs. That should see Maclaren hit the dizzy heights of 5th or 6th, unless Massa/Alonso T-Bag Vettel in the first lap and they all crash and retire.

McLaren are indeed in trouble. I have been saying throughout this season that their car has been flattered by its drivers. It is fundamentally flawed in the first place and this 'clarification' of the rules has hurt tham badly.

On the other hand, Red Bull's car is the complete antithesis; being so healthy that its immune system seems able to overcome any little viruses coughed up by the FIA… (in spite of pathetic, over-the-top whinging from Horner).

What do you think about Ferrari?

Updates or ban that helped Alonso close the gap to Red Bull?

Feels like a mixture of both to me. Ferrari were getting closer anyway and had already passed McLaren.

I'd actually put that down to Ferrari coping better with a hot track last time out. I expected normal service to be resumed by Mclaren this time but obviously not.

Err no. When his teamate isnt turning into him Hami the rain master (Fuji, Silverstone, Monaco....) would cruise round at a rate of knots.
Get it...knots...water. Oh well.

Nope, fully expect Massa to drop his hairy love nuts inside Vettel's visor before the lights go green. Team orders of course...

I was actually thinking of next season not mid way thu this one as it would never happen. With a multitude of failed upgrades Mclaren just havent adapted to the ban as well as others. Of course it could probably only ever happen by a concensus in FOTA.

As long as Lewis doesn't start veering off to a different part of the track and slows down to a halt behind the safety car, making others crash.

Has Hamilton won a wet race since being Button's team mate?
