City Status

The Queen has asked me to put forward a few suggestions for this year's new cities. I've agreed to help and informed her I would be putting the question to the good folk of not606.

So, which towns would you like to see elevated to city status? And why?

Forget the old rules about cathedrals and administrative centres. Think outside the box.

The best suggestion will win a prize.

I can sense a Scottish mining theme here, which is obviously a source of great pride to you both, and I shall of course consider the suggestions.

But can you elaborate further?

 

Luton for me. It's a well known fact that towns are never the target of terrorist attacks. Elevating Luton to city status might encourage someone to wipe it of the face of the earth.

 

We should move the Queen and her family there too, get 2 birds stoned at once or whatever that saying is.

Only cities with a population over 1 million should remain cities, the rest are just large towns.

 

Try telling that to Mr Angus Woodpole of Nairn Mews, Brechin.

 

The Queen informs me her next move will be to Newhaven or Horsham.

It's a well known fact that Aberdeen is the largest village in the world.

 

I think you get confused when someone called you the biggest village idiot in the world.
