Keep Rodgers, scrap the transfer panel, bring in one top guy to work with Rodgers on transfers, dont interfere any further.

May I just say where we are today is down to two things

    1. We did very very badly in October and November

    2. We have bought badly

We are now adrift after playing two top 4 teams, that's reality. If we'd been more consistent we would be closer but we have to be real

We've had good resources not whine about resources nor sugar daddy resources

We are I feel under paying based on experience of the likes of Johnson et ak when we nearly went bust but the tv money now says where 100k was money to keep a top player is now entry level money and we have to adjust at the Ayre level

We've had plenty of money to compete for say 4th we have by the looks of it just fallen short

If we get to a cup final which bye I exoect but no more given draw then that is about where I thought we would be before season started

The thing that stuck in my mind was woefully inept play then injuries leading to finally youth getting a go and a good run following. We've run into a wall now

To improve we have to push more youth on and as said here improve the team spine

I agree, I would rather use Tex and Sinclair than buy. There are a few other promising lads also. I stick with my thoughts, bring in 1 or 2 max adding experience other than loads of signings.

    I'd not go that far!

Oh I'd try teixteria out in a wide area of we've europa to do it in

But with origi my personal thought is I'd like origi, Sinclair, sturridge and a top new cf buy as a 4

Same for midfield, start with can and henderson, add Allen as pure squad filler and then add a real good cm to that

The get me a keeper for his sake who can okay the game of today not the game of the 1990s

There's a lot of work to do to turn a decent side into a top 4 side and as Spurs have found out numerous times changing managers doesn't dibit in its iwn

I want 2 top strikers, or at least 1 top and 1 top half of PL standard, because when Sturridge gets injured we cannot put all the pressure on one man who is backed up by 2 kids. Lavezzi is available cheap, spend big on another.

I also want 2 CM's. 1 top holding player and one to be a second Henderson, because with out Henderson we loose a lot of energy and the dirty work doesnt get done. Milner is likely to be available for free, as are a couple of decent talents from Italy. Spend big on the holding player.

Allen will always be useful off the bench when we are protecting a lead.

If we cant afford any one else after that then dont sign any one else. But I can imagine we can at least stretch to £4m for Papa and Sergio Romero on a free.

Everyone thought Sturridge would solve the problem of goals. He hasn't.

Another striker will help but it merely masks the key issues in the other areas of the team.

And there is no chance I would give Rodgers control over transfers - he wanted Lallana and Lovren. Those were his marquee signings and both are average.

To be honest, reading Rodgers's comments of late, I just want him out. There are a lot of better candidates for the job.

Certainly don't want Falcao on loan, as has been mooted by some papers this weekend. Jesus tonight....

  9. I agree with what you're saying but like Jimmy (****ing hell, I'm agreeing with Jimmy <yikes>) said, we should be looking for a CB, CM and Striker (x2) IMO

Lallana has good talent, his game needs work, he can be much better than average, but he's the sort of signing we should be making as a backup signing in his current form. His offside goal a while back where he took it down and smashed it with his other foot from an angle shows he can do some great things. He needs a bit of work

he's average. he doesn't have the pace nor the physicality to be anything else. look at charlie adam.. he's bang average can can score a worldie every now and again. Average isn't mediocre or league 1 standard.. average is simply average. Average players in the prem would amaze us all in sunday league!

He has frankly done brilliantly to get as far as he has in his career. at 27? he's done his work and is in his prime which again shows something.

You've just said he is back up... well thats what i thought day one it was a coutinho Or type of buy which was nuts for 25mil when a fabregas was going for 30.

Lallana [from wiki] - ''On 18 April 2014, he was named as one of the six players on the shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year award. On 27 April 2014, he was named alongside teammate Luke Shaw in the PFA Team of the Year. On 6 May, he was crowned as both the Southampton Players’ Player and Fans’ Player of the year''

What did we do to him?

I agree but the fact he was already doing the business for Saints suggests he shouldn't turn into 'average' with us. Which leads me onto - why didn't Rodgers use him [once injury was sorted] and Lambert together to try and replicate their Southampton form - when we were without Sturridge and a decent striker/strike force so they wouldn't have displaced anybody? - why not give it a go?
