Its neither spend more nor less it is spend wisely.

Luv your comments would suggest at an actual strategy. that would be even more optimistic of our lot than me asking for them to pay the going rate

I have to say its difficult to use the academy unless someone does the hard work of setting up the linkages that say cheslea have.

I see the lad Romeu at cheslea wants to be sold but he's been on loan for how many seasons now? all at good enough clubs. LFc have not got the lloan agreemetns or a team out in belgium or holland to flood with kids so our development stops at 18 and we go... hmmmm where will we loan this kid... and if we are lucky a good club like derby take them on.

thats a lot of strategic work a tecnhical director could do.

i would agree that in wider areas kids could and should be pushed more but we've emptied the academy at this point.... ojo and sinclair have gone on loan. the average age of kids in u21s is about 18. rodgershas done a decent job taking kids on and giving them some goes.

I would contend that hodgson however did not have money to spend. We were about to go into administration and G&H appointed him. he was sacked ebfore FSG had a transfer window... yes he bought total muck in.

G&H let rafa spend a lot.. he moaned about lack of money

FSG have given comolli and kenny and noew rodgers and friedns shedloads in historic terms.

    We've loadsa wonga to waste...

but the game is changing with each tv deal. everyone has wedge now. Even small clubs like southampton. :bandit:

Interesting the gap between a "small club" and a world superpower is one point after 31 games.

Good thing we don't have a fraud like Brenda in charge to have it exposed. Can't see Saints players not playing for Koeman.

We should have got Betrand before Southampton went in for him, never mind who we bought he should have been a target, perhaps this Summer would be a good time to go back in for him.

suppose seeing your players are unambitious. you are lucky to have such a negative manager in charge that you will not have him poached i guess. Add that to the players who didn't want to leave and i suppose of course those like sneiderlin who cried to get out and you really do have a little paradise down there on the south coast <ok>

I dunno buddy, he is experiencing the upward trajectory that embodies Saints ambition, whether or not he wants a move to a state of eternal regression that is the red side of merseyside I don't know.

well he is only on loan at southampton. I think really we were in market for buys not loans and as such I quite fancy that Moreno was a long time target. i think rodgers might have looked around but wasn't going to get a buy of cheslea who have other suckers like everton to get funds for top players frm.

Bertrand has increased his value at southampton and will fetch Chelsea a good fee which will no doubt go on buying sterling from us. It'll be like southampton paying our money to cheslea who will then return it to us. In the end it'll be like <laugh> we will have bought lallana then that moeny will go rodund to have us sell sterling so lallana can play

    <rofl>

He's bound to want to make that big step up if we make the offer, hopefully it'll be for a fair price, we've funded you enough. You should be very gratefull for the handout.

From Europa League football to.............. Europa League football. The difference between now and the 1980s is there ain't no "step" between yourselves and upper mid table teams. Your success from eons ago will start to fade soon and Henderson and Sterling's agents know it.

Rodgers is reported to be interested in Garbutt, with him being out of contract in the summer he fits into his price range<ok>

to expect any club to spend money wisely is i think going to far... after all everton spent on lukaku and barry <whistle> At least of course according to lukaku's agent you are in for a doubling of your money if you sell... i think they must mean us cos nobdoy else are crazy enough but ho-hey..

you must be looking forward to the 60mil and more mcgeedy types coming.

    I guess thats better than £75m and Balotelli/Lovren/Lallana types<ok>

Just think if you had saved the transfer fee/wages for those three you could have tempted Sanchez and had change
