Good to see a few of the 'not on our board brigade' venturing over now that they have done something........not you KIO. Amazing how one game seems to point to Armageddon... I have also spoke to someone inside the club and the view from within is that all the players buy in to what MM is doing and how he goes about it no one moans or sulks when dropped and win lose or draw come Monday morning everyone is raring to go a put in the work to move on.
If they try and derail this thread I shall going crying to the mods! Let's judge Mick after next season this year has been another one of rebuilding.
Mate I said a while ago I shall wait till the end of this season to see if we have progressed.......but tbh I am confident that our point tally will be better than last season, therefore I believe MM has proven himself to be the man to continue to take us forward. I don't think we will need to many additions to really compete at the top of this league.
KIO quite obviously loves and supports his team, but I would suggest that he knows very little about football.
Okay my thoughts in a nutshell - ( yes like you I'm very annoyed with today ) * For me, the playoffs are now gonna be hard to make “ - doesn't get any easier does it! However thank christ we have Blackpool home next. Cardiff home follows up on summer holiday mode so yeah. Good chance of 6/6. Essential 6/6 with Wolves away after ( if they make play offs I fancy them to win it, good side ) “the only player who had a decent first half was Chaplow” - quality player. Didn't understand the pelters he was getting on arrival. * Mick got it wrong today, end of. Happens. He got it bang right away at Watford, and plenty of other days this season. I'll back him until the end of the season for sure. I'm not a fan of Wood at all. Offered nothing at Watford. Even if Sears isn't 100% I'd start him and take him off on 55 if necessary, we cannot afford him on the subs bench!!!!! * Assume Mings will be back at LB next game!? I'm keeping the faith. It's the first season since 07/08 with six to play we've been in such a position. We're still but three points from the play offs. I know football isn't done mathematically and there will be slips and falls however fixtures that help us ( stand out anyway ) = * Derby v Brentford next sat ( we host Blackpool ) * Middlesbrough v Wolves That's the stand out ones sadly! Oh well, I'm going to continue to be upbeat. 7/12 is a good run from 4 games. I'd say from our last 6 we require 13 points. Can we do it?
" Warky you're clutching at straws mate, we're going up get over it pal " Oh I'm sorry league finished?!?! Do love some arrogant budgies - would be hilarious if they came third.
Your comments sound like our thoughts on Hooton just over a year ago - I used to doubt the wisdom of sacking managers - after all it is the guys on the pitch - but the last eighteen months and our experience has altered my thinking. Good luck for your next fixtures!
I was just pointing out that KIO is not part of the 'our board brigade'.........I think he is all for free movement of fans across the whole forum...
Time to rip it up and start again. Central defenders who have been so solid in the past have been a shambles for many months. Blame for this disappointing second half of the season? Really, really simple - lack of investment in January.
I disagree. I think having seen us play this season that we do have the squad. On paper before the season started I doubted the ability but its not the ability but the lack of positive play that seems to have hampered us more. We seem to never want to push on. If we go 1 up we seem to be happy with that and just stop attacking. So many games we concede goals and drop games as we simply drop of the pace and seem to be happy to sit on our own 18 yard box for the latter stages of the game. The loanees haven't impressed enough and for me, on that side of things, I would have preferred 1 or 2 higher quality loans rather than 5 or 6 less ambitious loans or short term deals. each to there own though.
That has **** all to di with MM's team sekectuin and tactics ffs!!?? We had enough quality on the bench to win today but that stubborn ****er of a manager chooses to play for a point!! Thats MM not ME
Days like today are MM's fault, Days like Watford are also down to MM. There was backing in January, in the shape of Sears, there has been continued backing in the Loan market - Chaplow, Williams, Fryers. Its the perrenially unresolved argument - are these the players MM wants, or the players that Mick settles for within our price range? The fact is that MM is using players that were top 2 for half the season in a far more negative way since Christmas.
